Using cPanel I take a backup of the database only. Simple and quick, save on your computer.
And always have a copy of the latest files from your complete WP to your local computer using FTP.If things fall over, just restore the database in cPanel, and use the file comparison feature of your FTP program (but that is usually not necessary – it is only the database you might need to restore).
You are not adding it correctly to the menu as per GD > Design > Navigation > Add relevant bits to relevant part of the menu
Also, you should not use any page caching: http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/dos-and-donts/
I tried to fix your menu, and then I noticed you use 2 themes at the same time somehow: GDF and Blue Star Guide.
That is why I can’t add things to the menu I guess and why all your pages are confused as well. You should not have 2 themes active at the same time, and I don’t even know how that was possible.Hi Kat, I think you might be better off to use one CTP and different levels for that one CTP. I don’t understand why you would have 3 CPTs instead of one CPT and 3 levels of features.
The only advantage I can think off is that you can them not displayed on the map on the same time, And I am not sure that is an advantage.
The way you have set it up, is that users cannot upgrade, because that is only possible within the same CPT.
This might be handy: http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/places-categories-and-listings/
Hi Kat, this could be helpful: http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/core-place-settings/#custom

November 26, 2014 at 9:18 pm in reply to: WPGEO does NOT work, does not assign listings to proper location catagory #22756If this was the first listing in Washington State, it looked in the database, already found a ‘washington’ slug in in the wp_terms table, and therefore created a -1 slug.
You still had a ‘washington’ slug in the wp_terms table. I changed that to a -1 slug.
I also changed 2 location:
/united-states/washington/lacey
united-states/missouri/washingtonAnd changed the slugs of 2 listings.
To answer your last question: the slugs for GD are independent of the slugs in the wp_terms table, but having said that, the cannot be the same.
GD can create a washington slug for every location, whether it be a state or a city. As long that slug is not in the wp_terms table already.Hi Rich, have a look here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/upcoming-news-and-demo/#post-22593
This reply has been marked as private.Yes, WHM or cPanel, and your FTP details too please. And the correct URL.
Vivienne, can you check the URL you posted, because theglobalknowledgetree.com is not a registered domain name.
http://whois.domaintools.com/theglobalknowledgetree.comI don’t think your server is down, but your DNS is not too well.
Can you post access details of your control panel and FTP in a private message, and I’ll call Stiofan or Paolo for you.Hi Drashida
It seems that at least some of your events have not been assigned a date, so they will not display.
Also, past events do not show on the map (but that is not the problem).
In addition to that, none of your events has a location assigned to them.
This seems to be the same for your places.
On further investigation, I can see that you have no locations left in your multilocation settings. It looks like there has been some severe data loss, so I hope you have a database backup, or contact your host to see whether they might be able to restore an earlier version.
All your GD plugins also need updating AFTER you restore the data.
PS: Please post your admin details in a private message if you want any of the other admins to help too; they can’t see the site because it is in Coming Soon mode.
Do you mean when you share using the ShareThis link?
I guess that has to do with http://www.sharethis.com.
But I’ll ask the others too.great, thanks for letting us know, toufik
