The simplest way to hide the Near field is to hide it with CSS, add this to your child theme’s CSS:
    .snear {visibility: hidden;}

To remove the distances, go to GD > Place settings > Advance search > remove the search by distance field from the list to search on.
[At least that is how I think it works, let me know if it did not work]

    @ mindfulworld
I split your topic off so you can post private messages.

If you select Haute Garonne, the map should center on Haute Garonne.
Check your settings in WP admin > appearance > widgets > GD Home > GD home gmap
Make sure to tick auto zoom, or your map will always be showing the same area.

If that does not fix ti, can you post your URL and WP admin details?

The only way I can think of currently is to add a proper address, but not show it on the detail page by hiding it with CSS.
You might want to review this, and comment if you want.

Regarding the search, you can add the normal WP search widget if you like, instead of the GD search, or additional to.
Have a look at http://goldroo.net/ for an example.

Mmmmm, I can confirm this, just tested it.
I’ll get Vikas to have a look at this.

No, you do not need to add any location yourself at all. Users will be able to pick/create a location exactly the same way you can. Open an other browser, and pretend to be a user with another email, you’ll see how it all works.
You just need to be a little bit patient while your website connects to the external database trying to match your input.
Personally, I would not add any location to the database myself, because it will create pages without any listings, which is not a good experience for your users.

What you describe about the search is not possible.
But it seems what you are trying to achieve is let users filter for everything in their location. That is exactly what the location switcher does, it allows people to filter for location.

I notice that some of your listings do not have a street address. Until all your listings have a street address, they will not show up on the map in some searches.

Hi Dean. I would suggest to get the core plugin working first, so just install that with a default location.
Then it really does not matter, just activate one at the time, check the settings, and ask if you get stuck.

    Enjoy!

    @Nicole
To show all the fields when users submit, you need to adjust your Pricing and Payment settings (but maybe you sorted that already).

I don’t quiet understand why they don’t take effect, unless you add ” !important ” to all of them.
I can see the CSS is on the page as well, instead of just in the stylesheet, and that would be why.
But I don’t know why it is on the page (source) at all, it should just be on the stylesheet.
    I might just ask Stiofan.

You should shorten the menu headings so you can fit everything in the one line. Menus like that are not supposed to be on more than one line. It looks a bit spammy too. I would just do Marketplace / attractions / accommodation / …
    Drop repeating the dog stuff.

You are still linking to /accommodation/hotels/ from your menu, although the url should be /accommodation/dog-friendly-hotels-uk-europe because that is the slugs you use.

If you want Accommodation > Cottages and Accommodation > Hotels
then create a CTP Accommodation (Done), then a category Cottages and another category Hotels.

Just rename some of your long names and long slugs to Cottages (name of category) and cottages (slug). Keep it simple.
Then WP > Settings > permalinks and click Save.
Then go through your listings > edit> adjust the category if required > save.

You are linking from your menu to pages that do not exist.
For example, you link to /accommodation/hotels/ but that should be /accommodation/dog-friendly-hotels-uk-europe because that is the slug for your CTP and your Hotels.
