No, those settings are fine, it just depends when you changed them: after or before you added the listing.
Have a look at the listing in the backend, does it allow comments?Without admin details, we cannot check ourselves.

Must be some computer issue, I have no problem uploading the CSV file, that is how I updated that test listing.

I’ll get the developers to look at this after the weekend.
I can get the compass back by selecting “Use old non-styled form” at GD > Design > Search
but then the “search” button disappears.
It seems there are a few customizations but I can not pinpoint them.Thanks for your patience.
