Further problems with BB and GD shortcodes

Referring to https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/shortcodes/ after V1 to V2 conversion upgrade:

While Buiulding a home page with BB using GD short codes, SEARCH and CATEGORIES appeared to work ok, [gd_search customize_filters=”default”] and
    [gd_categories] but listings [gd_listings post_type=”gd_place” sort_by=”az” title_tag=”h3″ layout=”gridview_onefourth” post_limit=”4″ add_location_filter=”1″ category=”0″] caused the following errors:

1- On saving the layout, the main top image of the page is lost, plus all the CSS layout. On editing in BB again, it comes back, but then dissapears on saving again.
2- When deleting the gd_listings shortcode as mentioned above, the page still renders listings, even after clearing all caches.
3- I have not tested other shortcodes, but there appears to be some deeper conflict with the Beaver Builder editor, or it’s default theme.

1- THanks for the note on shortcodes. I’ll adjust these.
2- Yes, it’s the BB edit action that makes the page go blank. I’ll await your Devs. update or fix for this.
3- on this page https://wpgeodirectory.com/location-manager-v2-beta-initial-release/ It states

“V1 to V2 converter. If you install the latest release of the Core GeoDirectory Plugin (V2.0.0.18) on a website that has or had V1 installed, the conversion tool will popup an alert.” That’s why I was expecting a conversion process. (Maybe another doc edit?)

    Thank-you.

Ok, thanks for that Alex. What do I need in order to upgrade from V1.6.30 to V2? I have auto easy updates installed with license details in all addons, but no beta updates have arrived. Should I do this manually and Do I need to deactivate GD plugin, addons, and uninstall data first? I ONLY have demo data installed at present on a dev. site.

What’s your recommended update path please?

    Thank-you

Ok, I was not aware of that. In fact when I D/L the plugin, I had only the option of V1.X. I’ve seen there is a conversion for V2.x upgrade. Is the V2.x release stable yet?

this page https://wpgeodirectory.com/try-geodirectory-v2/ indicats not suitable for live sites, plus some of the addons.

    I’m using these addons – all V1.x.x
    GeoDirectory Advance Search Filters
    GeoDirectory Claim Manager
    GeoDirectory Dashboard
    GeoDirectory Location Manager
    GeoDirectory Payment Manager
    GeoDirectory Review Rating Manager
    Invoicing

Thanks for the advice on how to proceed Alex.

Hi Stiofan, thanks for your pickup.

User error! I’ve changed the setting to ‘multi city’ from ‘default city’ in settings. Confusing, because I’m not dealing with cities, but towns and villages. (addressed in another post) Anyway, this seems to have cleared the problem . Thank-you.

Thanks Alex, I’ve replaced the maintenenace plugin with the ‘fruitful code version’ and it works as expected now. Something weird with the other one’s redirect, but no need to ruminate over this now. 🙂

    Thanks for the feedback

Hi Alex, thanks for the reply. I’m aware of the normal operation and I have not set any redirects. The maintenenace plugin (that Ive used several times before) simply sets a default screen over non admins visiting the site. I’m logging is as the administrator, so I should have access. After logging in, calling /wp-admin/ simply returns me to the holding page with the URL as above as if I’m not logged in. Looks like I’ll have to disable the maintenance plugin in FTP to gain access, but this should really not be required. Maybe you could recommend a maintenance plugin that plays nice with GD?? Not had this problem before …

    Yes, I’ve cleared cookies.

    THank-you.
