How may I change social importer field so that it just says “Yelp listing URL” instead of facebook. This way at least we can use the Yelp importer. And, this way when I submit the process for review I can show how this will work using yelp as an example.
Below you can see where I started entering “Details for Page Public Content Access”. When I got to the second detail they want us to explain what the process is. They also want a screencast showing how we want to use the app. The yelp field would help with this. I’ll probably go ahead and enable it anyways just to do this. But, I really would like to change the text in that field to just yelp until facebook approves it (if they do).
Please explain how you are using Page Public Content Access to enhance the experience of your app.
We want users of our site to be able to bring in information from their page to a listing they are creating on their site. We allow users to do this with Yelp and want to be able to with Facebook. This way if they already have created an profile on one of these pages they will be able to easily pull in some of the content of those pages to help expedite their listing being created on our niche site.A member of our review team will test how your app uses Page Public Content Access. Please give them detailed step-by-step instructions for how to see this permission the same way people using your app would.
Users will first need to register to our website by selecting “register” in the footer or under “more” in the top navigation.
After registering the user will be brought to the “pick a package” page where they will select the package that best fits them.
After picking a package the user will be able to add details to their listing. To help expedite the process, near the top of this page there is a social importer field where they can enter their yelp listing (or facebook page url when this app is approved) and select “import” to import some content into a few fields “for example, description information”.It seems like it would make most sense to submit for approval everything we need to use the app. Otherwise they may not approve it for everything we need, right?
Also, what specifically did you submit for approval? I am anxious to submit mine for approval but I don’t want do it wrong because that may delay things.
Did you happen to notice that when selecting “Page Public Content Access” it says:
Businesses cannot sell data
Businesses cannot transfer or sell customer insights or competitive intelligence data to third-parties apart from the Page owner
Businesses cannot map user behavior and engagement across Pages that do not belong to the same business
Businesses cannot build user profiles or attempt to identify individualsI’m not sure about the first 3 but the 4th one sounds a lot like what we’re doing. What do you think?
SWEET!!!! I really hope so, people are so into apps, it’s very important, extremely important, invaluably important 🙂
Thanks Stiofan, I guess it’s really minor and more confusing because we’re just testing the site. If we were actually using the site it may not be all that odd. Of course, it would be far more ideal to only show if we actually entered something. It’s definitely going to be confusing to the end user if they go to the page (e.g. out of curiousity), navigate away, and go back. They’re going to be like ??? lol But, it’s just a minor confusion I suppose. And, if they entered something I’m not sure they would really want to remove it or “all of it” for that matter. It’s easy enough to remove a field of content or refresh a page to start over.
Is it easy to hide should we decide we prefer to not have it?
Thanks again!
Is there any reason why the last person that upgraded their listing (using a discount code) after checkout was brought to the homepage instead of the payment confirmation? I sent them a screen shot of the payment confirmation page and they just verified that they were not brought there. They said they were brought to the homepage…
Thanks, I didn’t change anything, so I don’t know what happened. Hopefully it wont happen again.
Ok, nevermind, it’s showing it now. That was weird, I tried different listings, different windows and it was doing it every time. Then I tried a different browser and it wasn’t. Then I went back to chrome where it was doing it and it wasn’t doing it anymore… weird… glad I got a screen shot of it otherwise you guys might think i was going crazy over here! LOL
