I have heard great things about Lightning Base as well.
This reply has been marked as private.A lot of developers I talk to explained that GD is not just a simple plugin, in essence it is n application framework and they feel I am better off with a more robust back end than what a shared host can offer. While I cannot justify a dedicated server at this time, a VPS that can scale is a good way to start. And the prices have dropped. The only disadvantage is that you manage the server yourself. I would outsource this part if it but before I do I want to have a working knowledge of what my business is run on. I would take a look at either Digital Ocean or Linode for an idea of what can be done.
In my opinion the site infrastructure should be set up right from the get go which is why I am taking this approach.
Looking forward to see what you have in the works!
I am currently using Avada on a different project and have a second site in the works that is travel related. I find the Sky theme looks interesting but more important than that, I am spending a great deal of time optimizing the infrastructure of the site. Using things like NGINX as a reverse proxy server to Apache, Varnish etc is very important from what I have observed when running GD. Of course optimizing your site and it’s contents is important but I think too little attention is paid to the back end and that’s as important if not more so. For the travel related site I am actually using a VPS from Digital Ocean. It’s a steep learning curve but I think well worth the effort if you are intending this site to be a business.

Excellent idea! Smart move GD team!
Hi,
Could you advise the community how you solved this? Would be quite interested in knowing.
Thanks!
Not really no. My original idea was to integrate all 3 so that you would have one account that stored all your favourites, resumes, job applications, etc. but it became too complicated to do.
Integrating wpjobboard requires some custom coding if you want it to integrate with Buddypress fully.

February 17, 2015 at 3:37 pm in reply to: GeoDirectory Buddypress Integration Addon Beta released #31176Question: If a theme like SKY Listings works with GD but does not specify it is BP compatible, does that mean that the BP plugin with GD won’t work with that theme?
This can’t be good…..
