Thanks Stiofan. That’ll be handy.
Hi Alex.
If a package is free, then, why do the renewal process or have an expiry date?
I have annual renewals for free packages to a) remind users to update their listing details and b) encourage them to upgrade to paid packages. It’s fair to say the majority are happy staying on the free package & just want to leave their listing as-is, hence the need to downgrade to their current package.
I’m still looking at setting up separate add-listing pages per post type, however, if we create unique custom add-listing pages per post type, when it comes to editing/renewing does the user still use the generic add-listing page? (hence they would not see the post type specific info).

But for packages used by existing customers this definitely won’t work. Deactivating these packages would mean they are not available at renewal. Telling legacy customers that they must upgrade or lose their listings isn’t an option – some of them have been with us on this basis for 6 years since the Geomtheme days & whilst paid listings is the preference at least the old free listings made the number of listings look better. I don’t really want to make these old packages available either as they reduce the number of paid listings.
It certainly seems an oversight to not have IDs for packages when they were there before. I do hope this will be fixed soon. In the meantime I’ll have to stay on V1, though I have plenty more V2 related questions to follow 🙂
Wondering how the guide is coming along – hope it’ll be ready very soon as I’m stuck. 🙂
I tried to proceed with an app review for my existing instance of social importer and after studying the list of options mentioned in Jeff’s response above I figured the following might be required:-
manage_pages & publish_pages possibly for using the “post to Facebook” option from my site)
user_events (I thought this might be necessary for importing events)I’m not too sure whether manage_pages & publish_pages are needed as I can still use the “post to Facebook” option. For info, I can also still import from a Facebook page too.
It’s just event import that’s crackered at the moment, so I guess we must need user_events. 🙂
Having indicated these 3 options as required Facebook then ask another bunch of questions, which is currently stopping my app review submission going ahead.
Here’s the questions for user_events (the others were similar).
Q1 How is your app using user_events?
– Integrates Facebook Events into a third-party app or website (my choice of answer)
– Lets people create or edit events using the Graph API
– OtherQ2 What platforms does your app use user_events on?
– Web (yes)
– Mobile (yes?)
– Other (?)Q3 A member of our review team will test how your app uses user_events. Please give them detailed step-by-step instructions for how to see this permission the same way people using your app would.
Er, okay I guess I’d give them a step by step to login, and start the process of creating an event and going as far as importing the event data.Q4 Upload screencast
We need to see your app using user_events so we can see that it doesn’t violate our policies. Upload a video screencast walkthrough using any method, (even recording with your phone).
You must show:
How a person logs in with Facebook
How a person sees this permission used in your app
AARGH! Haven’t done this & not sure what we should show.Would love to know if anyone has completed this step & successfully got their app reviewed. Also, looking forward to the guide on this subject. 🙂
April 19, 2018 at 2:51 pm in reply to: Notifications for expiring listings if package has recurring payment option #427261Hi Guust. Thanks for the response; I figured that might be the case.
What happens if a user is on a recurring package and they cancel their paypal recurring payment subscription – would they get an expiry notification, or do we get notified somehow?
Guys,
I think a few things are bit mixed up here, so I just want to get some clarity.
My original query related to the “GD Author Top section” widget area, which was missing on the Author/Authorname page when using Supreme theme (and this query also applies to the “GD Author Bottom section” widget area). So, for the purposes of clarity, does Alex’s comment “We have added a task to add author page widget areas” confirm this issue of missing GD Author Top/Bottom widget areas on the author/authorname page is being addressed?
The second Supreme theme query about the missing Footer Menu (i.e. a “Footer Links” menu defined in Appearance>Menus), which perhaps has been confused with the footer widget areas (however, it is useful to know how to get these to appear on the author page – thanks Guust) . The Footer Menu is not appearing across the whole site, not just the author page. I would hope that the Footer Menu should be showing when using Supreme…. Appreciate your thoughts on this.
