by default on wordpress, shortcode are only parsed in the content of the posts.

They do not work in custom fields unless the function that displays them is wrapped in a do_shortcode() function, which is not the case with GD, because custom fields are dynamic and wrapping them all in do_shortcode by default would make the code redundant.

I ask this to Stiofan, why don’t we add a shortcode ready custom field between the possible options?

Hi,

the faster way to have the compatibility plugin built would be to ask to the theme author if he could be interested in working on it and extend his theme features by integrating a directory plugin.

He knows his theme’s templates like noone else and it would take him maximum 1 hour of work.

With Stiofan we want to identify few other popular themes to integrate in the coming weeks and that is definitely a good candidate, but we won’t have time to work on it right away for you.

Should you require to have the plugin done as soon as possible, you can request to John if he’s available for hire.

If none of the options above is satisfactory for you, the only solution would be to go with a theme that is already 100% compatible.
