if we don’t delete all places linked to a deleted location, the directory stops working completely and to fix it you have to go back into each place to add a new location.
Users would complain even more…
It would be wiser to Merge location when needed, given that a similar function has been provided and most importantly, always keep a back up of your work.
If your server’s hard disk fails, someone hacks it or anything like this happen, you loose all your work…

there seems to be several problem with your server not related to GeoDirectory.
I’ve deactivated our plugin to see if permalinks would work with a regular wordpress page or post and it didn’t. Still returns a 404 page.
Please double check that your server install is working correctly with wordpress alone first, than we will be able to provide assistance with the plugin.

Ok, I’ve double checked. One restaurant link was working correctly (right sidebar) and the menu link wasn’t. Now it’s fixed.
There were several settings that needed to be fine tuned.
You had multilocaiton enabled, but not having the location switcher in place, no session was set.
I’ve added in design > navigation all proper settings to show GD links in the menu and added the location switcher from multilocation > settings.
Now I set you default location to St. Charles and both links are working.

However to reply to your complain about not answering, I must say Stiofan did answer even before you posted:
This is by design, this is how we thought it would work best, if you have a better idea we will listen but most solutions have there problems.It means we understand your point, we can work with all of you to make it better… but it will be an ongoing process.
You shouldn’t expect us to revolutionize an addon right away, based on the feedback of 2 or 3 users… When another 2 or 300 hundreds didn’t report any problem with it.

just FYI, if I replicate exactly what you are showing in your screenshots from my location. I see a blank map, because there are no listings at all around my location, what should the script do in this case??? (see attached)
I’ve never said I think it should work this way and that’s it. I said that, from our studies, this is the best solution for the type of product that we built. You are free to disagree, but please bring solid arguments. Your personal view of how the script should work doesn’t take in consideration what other people might need.
Compared to weedmaps, yelp or whatever big directory out there (websites with hundreds if not thousands of developers behind), we are trying to build a script that for $150/year would do a lot and do it well for a lot of possible uses.
Will it do everything and anything any possible user have in mind? Absolutely not… Why? Because what works for you 2 will not work for others for example and what we need to find is a solution that is suitable for the majority.
We think the solution provided now is the best that we can afford to provide at the moment.
If it is not 100% right for someone (absolutely possible), the script is 100% open source and they can have it customized to do exactly what they want…

to start with, there was an error in your design > map setitings.
All categories and Custom Post types were hidden.
I also noticed you are using an outdated version of multilocation.
Please update all addons and that should fix it…
I get an impossible to contact server error page…
