June 17, 2019 at 4:23 pm in reply to: New install GDv2 with imported listings, blank page on category view + more #493453
Hi,
wp_2_countries: ❌ Table does not exist
That table wouldn’t belong to GeoDirectory. All our table are prefixed with wp_geodir_
That makes me assume that you had another directory plugin installed too? That’s were the duplicate slugs maybe coming from?
If that’s possible, I’d try to install GD on a clean database to see if the problem persists.
If it does, please provide FTP and phpmyadmin (or cpanel) credentials. we’ll make sure to help you fix the problem.
Let us know,
Thanks
Hi,
the best way is to have them as cat/sub-cats. Even if the select field will result being a bit longer, it can be searched by typing the cat name and it is definitely a better way to structure your listings.
I’m pushing with Stiofan to make him introduce back ajax chained conditional fields for cat – sub cats, but they have their down-sides too.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks
They do have a tool to auto-update, which affected other customersof ours. We don’t have a single line of code that could do that anywhere.
For me what happened is pretty clear…
Either someone on your end launched the updates or they disabled their tool after the incident was reported.
I don’t see any other logic explanation.
ThanksThis reply has been marked as private.Hi,
that means that the location manager v1 is not active.
You probably had the back-up of the database, but didn’t re-install V1 add-ons?
Let us know if that was it.
Thanks
Hi,
that is possible, but requires custom code, which is beyond support.
You can hire a GeoDirectory expert to take code from Supreme and apply it to Avada here: https://geodirectoryexperts.com
Thank you
I tested your website and can’t seem to find the problem. I’ve alerted the developers who will have a look asap. Please also provide FTP credentials in case they need it.
Thanks for your patience
Hi,
please provide a link and admin credentials in a private reply and we will have a look.
Thanks

this can’t be done without a certain amount of custom code.
You can find experts for hire for customizations here: https://geodirectoryexperts.com

Badges are based on custom fields yes.
Example:
If you want to show the facebook link in any page, you have an option in the custom field settings.
If instead, you want to add it as a badge, you have the option to do that too.
Badges are shortcodes that you can add to the archive item template page or detail page template.
The shortcode builder helps to add these shortcodes, by just selecting options.
In the documentation, there are several examples.
Hopefully, this will help,
Let me know,
Thanks
I answered your questions here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/list-of-things-that-dont-work/#post-493049
I hope this will help.
Thanks
1) GeoLocation is part of the Advance Search Add-on.
This is specified in both the product page and the docs.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/advanced-search-add-on/
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/advanced-search/Not having that plugin, the feature can’t be activated.
2) COuld be due to several things. Such as wrong Permalinks settings, incomplete listings, corrupt data, or even a conflict with another plugin. If you share a link and admin credentials we’ll tell you more.
3) You need to create a new price package in Places > Settings > Packages
Include the “featured option” in your new price. Add the Packages custom field to your add listing form and users will be able to select one of your prices before adding the listing.
4) In most directories, featured listings appear on top of regular listings. Not in separate archives.
If you wish to completely separate free and paid listings, you should use 2 separate listing types. 1 only offering a free listing and 1 only a paid listing. That way they will be completely separate. For that, you will need the custom post type add-on.
5) All post types are added the same way.
Places: yoursite.com/add-listing/?listing_type=gd_place
Events: yoursite.com/add-listing/?listing_type=gd_eventThe links to get to the specific add listing page for each custom post type can be found in Appearance > Menus.
5) Yes, but you need to install the free UsersWP plugin (a sister plugin of GD). https://wordpress.org/plugins/userswp/
hope this will help, if you have other questions let us know.
Thanks
