Thanks for the confirming message Stiofan, and for all you guys do. It is greatly appreciated. I think, from their perspecitive, if you can show (and validate) positive impact to FB users, that might make a difference to the review team. There is currently no clear benefit to the FB user from the GD manage_pages or publish_pages permissions.
“Your screencast doesn’t show how the use of this permission directly improves the user experience in your app. Unfortunately, we also weren’t able to determine this from testing your app manually.”
If you create a benefit to fb users and give us a way to prove that to the fb review team, we might make more progress. Alternatively, I am sure you guys are working on another way around the issue.
Thanks
So here is an update. I submitted the app for review with the added submission including publish_pages and manage-pages. Both were denied for two boilerplate responses. Exact same for both I think.
Feedback From Your Last Submission (Today at 9:09 AM)
Your screencast doesn’t show how the use of this permission directly improves the user experience in your app. Unfortunately, we also weren’t able to determine this from testing your app manually.
All permissions data must be visibly used within your app. We do not accept permission requests for data that you may decide to use later.
Please see our Examples page to learn more about making and submitting a successful screencast.
Learn more about testing permissions prior to approval. What it basically says is that we need to show a reason this type of connection is being requested. It would be great if you could address both these items and give us (the users) a clear understanding of how to get these two “permissions” accepted by fb.
Thanks,
JoelThanks Alex.
The link you sent does not tell where to set priorities for menu items. I already saw this link. I remember doing it but don’t remember where I set the menu item priorities.
Is most of the My Account menu built from functions.php? If so, I will hunt it down there.
Please let me know on the first part.
Thanks
That didn’t work too well 😉 I will mess with it. (see pic below)
Is there any way to edit the items in the My Account nav item? That might be a better way for me to integrate bp items rather than creating another nav link.
Thanks,
Joelwhen I try to fix the header it just jacks everything else up. I give up on making the nav menu sticky.
If you look at https://whotakescoin.com in the Featured Listing area, why are some listings showing text below the image and some are not? How can I get rid of the text below the image and make all the images appear the same as the Hodlgang image?
disregard this post. Heading back over to the other post regarding nav menu.
Also, is there a way to edit the items in the My Account nav menu? This might be better than trying to add a My Profile tab.
How do I put GD navigation items such as Listing or Change My Location in front of MyProfile using WP>Appearance>Menus?
There is a place to set priorities on menu items. I just don’t remember where that is.
Thanks
This reply has been marked as private. This reply has been marked as private.I tried creating a My Profile menu item but it does not have all the links found in the buddypress profile menu so it is really important that I be able to duplicate the buddypress profile menu from the admin bar into the nav bar.
Another question having to do with the navigation menu. I did it once but cannot find it again where I set priorities for navigation menu items to get profile logout to come after gd items. I just need to know where to set those priorities as I am fixing the other items above. . Thanks.
This solution works great except when the user is taken to BuddyPress pages. The nav menu falls below the BP content. Any suggestions?
https://whotakescoin.com/members/ – just scroll down and you will see what I mean. Also, the admin bar is currently hidden but the same thing happens when it is unhidden. Nav bar does not adjust for other elements on the screen.
Already using CPT’s as primary categories since there is only category / subcategory. It doesn’t make sense from a directory perspective to separate two people who offer the same service where one is online only and the other is online and has brick & mortar, especially in today’s marketplace.
I was able to create an “Online Only” checkbox that hides the address fields when entering a listing. Therefore, I would assume there is a way to create a “dummy” address that will work for those listings that do not care to put in an address. If there is not a way to handle this, then I would suggest that you look at this since forcing addresses on online businesses is a bit antiquated.
Let me know. Meantime I guess I will just live with the error. I did clean up the other invalid addresses (except for Everyone, Everywhere, Anywhere) per your recommendation but that did not resolve the error.
Thanks.
Understood and I will clean up the odd locations, especially since they don’t have any listings associated with them. Not sure how they got in there.
Regarding the Everyone, Everywhere, Anywhere location. If this is causing an issue then I need to know the best way to assign a default address of “nowhere” to a listing since there are Online Only listings that do not have a physical address. I have had difficulty with this and do not understand why there is not more dev work in the backend to accommodate online business that do not want to list an address.
What do you suggest I do for this use case?
Thanks
