now that i read it, wondering why i didn’t think about it 😉July 28, 2014 at 12:16 pm in reply to: child theme, custom listing-detail.php : dealing with custom post types ? #10130hi simone
thanks, that’s the way i fugerd i could it, but when custom types come in number this lead to quite a ‘messy’ template (and if you add theif ('preview') {}
, you got a file twice as messy ;))
i would be glad to hear i could use separate templates, if not i ll go with this 🙂working as a charm !! thx !!
sorry for the mistake ! 🙁sure, got it !
one last question (if off-topic, i ll repost elsewhere) : is there a way to make it so that home map widget would automatically switch to the right custom type when used on a listing page (i mean that the home map widget on http://rafonthenet.net/pge2/structures/ would display ‘structures’ listing) ??now that you mention it : i remember i may have done something like ‘publishing’ each plugin page just after install… if this information may help..

thanks for this fast fix ! 🙂
this doesn’t add the listing map in the admin page “Geodirectory/Design/Marker Cluster” select box, does it ??
rafJuly 21, 2014 at 12:12 pm in reply to: child theme issue : single.php, single-gd_place.php, format.php not working.. :( #9223hi
thanks for the answer.
indeed this worked in my child theme, next difficulty is to deal with the action calls 🙂
thx !! 🙂sure, no problem, i posted in case it would be something you would identify as GD related.
the site is not ‘real’, it is a testing place 🙂
i ll let you know if the issue remain when 4.0 is no longer beta 🙂hi,
+1 on the request to have clusters options on listing maps : if i put a ‘homepage map widget’ on my listing page : when used with custom post types, i get the default post-type (gd_place) on the home map widget, while the listing map widget offers me the right places.
so it is clearly more logical to use ‘listing map’ on such pages…
or am i missing something ??an example here :
http://rafonthenet.net/pge2/ will be a directory for paragliding sites and businesses : i have “sites” and “structures” (ie. clubs, shops, schools as categories) post types : i can’t have the ‘homepage map’ on ‘structures’ listing page (http://rafonthenet.net/pge2/structures/) as this map shows “sites” per default.so i think it would be nice to have listing pages available for clustering.
thx
rafJuly 21, 2014 at 7:59 am in reply to: child theme issue : single.php, single-gd_place.php, format.php not working.. :( #9205hi again,
i am testing on : the changes I made to ‘single.php’ and ‘format.php’ in the child theme are visible on frontend on a ‘normal’ blog post page. They just don’t show on ‘gd_place’ details pages… i can’t find where the template is for this page and how to override it…
Thx for helping 🙂hi there,
on my whishlist :
– a ‘map’ custom field in order to display specific spots in one “place” (say if my place is for instance an hotel, i wish i coud display places like ‘monuments, parking, bank, restaurants, etc. nearby’)
– the possibility to show different custom post types on one map : if you can’t do that, having different CPT in your directory looses great interest to me…
@guust: thx for the help, but isn’t sophie the topic starter ?? i assumed she could see the private message. Thx for helping 🙂
