If i remember correctly it is in pre_get_posts hook.
The best thing to do would be to install the “Query Monitor” plugin and check whats going wrong in the main query when active/not-active.

Perfect thanks, i see where the problem is now, it is in the sidebar listing widget, you show the cat in the listing view and there the cat link is missing the region. You can stop that cat link from showing until we fix it if you prefer, i have opened a task for this to be looked at on monday.

There were a few problems, the add listing page was a sub page, it has to be a main page and also u had the add listing shortcode on it, it is not needed if you have selected the page from GD settings.

Random lists are not what you want, they can’t be cached and will take up much more resources.

Also you would be best getting the event_id from the wp_geodir_event_schedule table by selecting event_date > NOW()

so maybe the solution is to blank the gps info or the city info on page load if the post is new, depending on what error message you want to show.
