It depends on a few things like server spec, type of entries, the post meta data.
Unless you have a dedicated server i would still suggest a multisite.Stiofan

It has GD specific files in it, did u add those or it came like that?

I added a business, it seems to work for me, are u adding from the frontend or backend and what is the problem?

We do extend where WP checks for the mo files, maybe it is reading an old one?
we now recommend wp-content/languages/plugins/ rather than wp-content/languages/geodirectory/
