That would be great! Yes I think so, I would like to have a more complete location. Let me clear that up a bit.
What I have now:
https://thebeautyadviser.com/beautysalons/romania/bucuresti/beauty-salons/abstract-studio/What I would like to have ( so I do not have to make way to many categories and subcategories to replace this below):
https://thebeautyadviser.com/beautysalons/romania/bucuresti/Sector-6/Militari/beauty-salons/abstract-studio/
How can I do this? Will activating neighborhoods help?
Thanks!
Hi there,
I want to start translate my website for SEO purposes. Regarding this, I have a few questions, as follows:
#1. can I change the order of slugs in urls? Ex: I would like to put the place catergory before country. Is this possible?
#2. Regarding the link url prefix from GeoDirectory Permalinks. Is this useful for SEO? If so, if I use WPML to make a multilanguage website, can I translate this prefix?
#3. Can you please tell me, how should I use WPML to translate my website? I know that if I change a location, let’s say Romania, GeoDirectory will take me to that location’s language files. It means that it will show on the frontend the entire website in Romanian. But, if I am an American in Romania, and select the romanian listings, how could I see the American version of that page? Will this change location option affect WMPL’s translating function?
#4. I am located in Romania. My listings are from Romania. If I start to use WPML, how do yo reccommend to proceed? Start translating using .po and .mo files and then using WPML, or can I start with WPML from first? Because I know when I install WPML it will ask me what is my primary language. My primary language I would like to be Romanian. But if I declare to WPML that my primary language is Romanian, it will be a problem because all my core files are in English (all my plugins & themes). How should I proceed with this translation process?
#5. I now have listings from Romania, on an website that is set primary as English. I would like to have this listings on a primary version of my website set to Romanian. Is it possible to do this with WPML directly, without losing my listings?
#6. Can I put in the advanced search option, to display the categories & subcategories of places. What I mean: I am searching a linsting that is located in a main parent category of beauty salons, but I want to show the user the possibility to select more accurate info, like subcategories in the advanced search form. How can I do this?
I hope the questions are clear, if not, I will try to reformulate.
Thank you,
VladHi Guust!
Thanks a lot!
Have a great day,
VladThank you Guust!
It now looks great 🙂All the best,
VladGreat!
Thank you again Kiran!
I appologise if I seemed a bit disrespectful. I am not a programmer, I am anything else but a technical guy, and all I built here was based only on practice and logic and it was not easy for me. It can get very frustrating to see things are not working and not know what or why is hapenning when things go wrong and you have no clue how to figure it out.
Thanks again for your support!
VladHi Kiran,
Thank you for your answer and for your effort to help me!
1. Some of my listings cannot be found. I re-saved the permalinks and still this problem persists.
3. The country location disappeared from the missing listings. See the screenshot attached.

I checked on my listings, and it seems everything is ok now. I understand the field post_country had an empty value for some listings, but I still don’t understand why, because I do enter the location everytime. I will be very careful to double check the listings everytime I list a new place, both in back end & in front end to make sure everything is ok in the future. I will get back to you if any similar problems will appear again.
<
2. Some of my listings have a “2” or “3” in the url EVEN THOUGH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to have the duplicate names on my listings.
<
It was true what I said, I did not enter listings with the same name, but I took a look in the file you attached. I understand now that some of my picture attachements have the same names as their listings so this might be an issue that caused the problem. I used the same name as post_names (listing/places names) -> I used the same names for pictures & for listings for SEO purposes. I did not know that this might cause problems.
ALSO
I see in your attached table that IDs 527 & 540’s Post_Type is “Location”. I recognize this as a post type from a previous plugin that I used, before using GD. “Locations” is the term used by that previous plugin for what GD names “Places”. Back then when I used that plugin I eneterd 5 of their Post Type “Locations” and now I have that same listings also listed as “GD Places”. Maybe this is also a reason for those numbers appearing in the url. This “Location” Post_Types should not exist anymore. Can you please tell me:
2.1. where can I find this file that you put in the attachement? (nou_tba_posts table)
2.2. Can I delete those IDs named “Location” without affecting Gd Places named the same?
<Thank you Kiran!

My current problems:
1. Some of my listings cannot be found. I re-saved the permalinks and still this problem persists.
https://thebeautyadviser.com/beautysalons/beauty-salons/magic-salon-drumul-taberei/2. Some of my listings have a “2” or “3” in the url EVEN THOUGH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to have the duplicate names on my listings.
ex: https://thebeautyadviser.com/beautysalons/romania/bucuresti/beauty-salons/jovsky-studio-herastrau-3/3. The country location dissapeared from the missing listings. See the screenshot attached.
What I would like to know is:
a. Why all these happened?
b. How can I fix? (re-saving permalinks does not work)
c. How can I prevent this from hapenning again?THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE!
I just got 1 phone call from one of my clients who told me that she would like to take her listing down because I have a bad website. 😐
Honestly, I paid some money, not that much, but it was my money and that makes me YOUR CLIENT! And I expect you to offer your CLIENTS a real reason for why all these problems keep happening. Still, AGAIN you blame my problems on me, my urls, my site, my hosting, GoDaddy, browsers, etc. And all this url problem appeared after your update, and another 3 of your clients have the same issue in the last 3-4 days. It might be GD’s fault for this url problem, but you seem that you didn’t even check if this was possible. 😐
@kiran I appreciate your way of answering, you do sound clear and act like you want to help, but still this does not solve my problem and I expected you guys to offer a solution to fix and to prevent these kind of errors to happen. You said in your previous repsonse that “Listings slugs are generated by WordPress standard function during listing creation.” Yes I understand, BUT these listings slugs were created and worked perfectly until your update! Without any “2” or “3” in the url. Because I made all my listings just once, and their names were unique. So why did they duplicate suddenly?!?
@ Stiofan – I don’t like his/your way of answering, it seems a bit arrogant every time you reply.
@ Guust – usually he/you offer kind responses. thanks!I will do a restore from a 1 week old version of my site, I will lose my few users and few reviews I gained this week. No more help needed from you, I will try to handle this by myself.
I do not agree with your way of handling customers issues.
This is not Customer Care.Thanks,
VladHi Kiran,
I downloaded the csv. I notice that most of my listings now have this “2” or “3” attached in the slug. And the slugs are not already anything….I made them all unique.
Why? I did not do anything to rename, modify, etc. WHY?
It seems for me this appeared out of a sudden. What if I will modify and they will appear again.
no more licenses in the Auto updates / Licensing page…all gone 🙂
In the meantime I also notice that the page with all the licenses, also disappeared.
I have searched on the forum to see if anyone else is having the same issue as I have, and it seems I am not the only one with this happening. Please see:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/update-404-error-on-all-listings/
and
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/listing-results-showing-page-not-found/And it seems this happened after the updates.
Any advice?so?
anyone..please!
I would like to solve this, can anyone help?
Vlad
Hi Stiofan,
This cannot happen, I have different places, with different names. For example, the place called MAGIC Dristor -> I cannot find it, even though it was added quite recently and it used to work. It was there a week ago, now it is not (in the front end).
I did not import no listing without a country slug, I PROMISE!
there is something happening there, I am not that technical and it is frustrating for me. I am not a developer. But I know for sure, those listings were there before.
Maybe I did something wrong when I modified the main page name from “Discover beauty salons” to “home” or something like this, but definately I have put the country in all the listings.
