NV was showing with the correct address, that’s why I couldn’t figure out why it was getting hung-up with the pop-up over and over again.
I tried changing the setting as you suggested and it seems to work while putting in a new entry and then editing it from both the front and backend (and I noticed it populates the neighborhood based on the map automatically regardless if I have them in the database or not which is nice. In fact, the one that popped up wasn’t even on the map and I had never heard of it. Sure enough, when I googled it, it outlined a small neighborhood the size of a block around it.)
Thanks,
Jim
This reply has been marked as private.Hi Kiran, I’ve sent the request to my developer/hosting company as I, myself don’t have access. I’ll post the info once they send it to me.
Thanks again,
Jim
This reply has been marked as private.Figured it out. I didn’t see the “Merge” button down below. All fixed! If you can please confirm that having all “NV” as regions will be the default for anyone adding a new listing, that would be great as I still don’t know how “Nevada” got in there.
I meant to also ask if there’s a way to search via the places backend by those particular locations (Nevada). I still have Las Vegas, Nevada, United States as a location and haven’t deleted it because I don’t know what’s tied to it without looking through 3,000 plus entries. There are several other locations as well that I need to verify nothing is listed to with “Nevada” as the region instead of NV.
Thanks,
Jim
Ok, I fixed some of the issues but found this one in particular: when I uploaded my CVS about a month ago, my region (state) was listed as NV. For several manual entries done recently, I don’t recall entering anything for the state and it apparently defaulted to “Nevada” (see screenshot below). I subsequently deleted the Nevada listing from the multilocation/manage location form not realizing they were tied to it. The listings still exist, but the URL is wrong – is there a way to edit this? When I try to edit the listing from its detail page, I apparently can only do so for the string segment representing its name. The one I entered after deleting the field defaulted to NV (Starbucks at the top of the attached screenshot.) I don’t know what generated the “Nevada” title, but it wasn’t in any of my uploads.
It’s not a big deal if I have to re-enter a few, I just want to ensure that anybody who is adding a listing, that it won’t create “Nevada” again.
Thanks a bunch – that’s exactly what I was looking for. Forgot all about the multi-locations.

This reply has been marked as private.This reply has been marked as private.I came across that while reading through all the posts earlier and it didn’t work for me. Unfortunately, responses in those threads sometimes lack context because the previous messages were marked private so when paolo, I believe, wrote in one response, “Only if you don’t want the envelope to show,” I have no idea what his response pertained to. Rest assured, I’ve spent a good three hours reading and testing various things now going back to the original issue.
I went into the Pricing Manager and changed all settings for Send To Friend to “No,” yet it’s still showing on each detail page.
I then used the following CSS:
a.b_sendtofriend {
display:none!important;
}But that still leaves the envelope (see attachment.)
…and that didn’t work.
I’ll just disable it in the price add-on since there’s obviously no functional purpose to changing it in the notifications–>other emails tab other than to have the sender believe they’re sending one thing while the receiving party receives something completely different whether they customize the message themselves or send it as is.
Is there a simpler way to just blank-out the field in the form? Sorry, I’m just trying to understand what the purpose of having Geo Directory–>Notifications–>Other Emails set up to edit from the backend is for if it ultimately has to be changed elsewhere?
