Thanks, I’ll have my developer check those as it might be related to the installation of custom font. I’ll see if they can check on the footer problem with the image showing below, too, and follow-up if there’s still an issue.

    Hi Kor,

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. The note in the documentation might need some clarification, though, as it says the listings would be sorted by ratings, not the categories themselves. Therefore, I’m assuming, when I select to show just one category, it’s defaulting to the category which has the most individual listings reviewed, correct?

Thanks, Guust. That worked without removing the info from the sidebar.

Well, we’re back to square one. I removed the CSS and the recurring dates are showing again in the sidebar. What I didn’t mention before was those dates aren’t matching with the text on the header when you click them individually. Some do, some don’t, hence why I was asking to remove the text from the header in my other support post. Please see attachment which shows the URL matching the concert date of December 2 but the text in the header shows incorrectly.

Kind of funny, I have a developer but somehow I’m doing the majority of the work. Oh well.

Alex, I thought that CSS was only for the text overlay on the featured image. I’m not sure how I would adjust it so that it’s not affecting the recurring list on the sidebar if that’s what is causing it to disappear there. I did add a second line to remove the end date to the code, but again, that was just for that particular listing’s date and time.

Thanks, worked perfectly! I just didn’t have the “span” part in there.

Ah, I noticed that was there. I didn’t put it there and thought it was some default code, though it’s possible my developer stuck it in there. I removed it, but before I go any further can you please confirm that I can edit a listing by choosing no for business owner/associate without having it be claimed by me? I just need to change the city of a couple of listings which will also allow me to ensure the $$ issue is fixed (that’s how I stumbled upon it.) Also, should I just remove the validation message, too?

    Thanks!

I have a temporary fix for the header until I hear back from its author.

Re: category sizing, that code you provided is for the home page. My problem is with the listings from the search result. I did a quick search but didn’t find anything and also tried some variations of the supplied code but have had no results. I would imagine it’s a simple solution, substituting the page name for “home”? If so, I’m not sure what the correct page name would be.

I originally looked at a lot of these suggestions but ended up settling on a plugin (mystickymenu) for the header. That was over a week ago. I posted the question in their support page, but since it’s free they’re a bit slow to respond – hence my asking if there’s a way to change the spacing on the GD page to enable the page to scroll as I suspect that’s the reason why the header isn’t working on the listings page (and the listings page only) as there’s a limited amount of scrolling with the fixed map. I’ll search around a bit more with regards to the plugin, but haven’t found anything on that end to help that’s why I was trying to see if there’s anything else I can do.

Thanks for the info on the category sizing; I’ll add that to my to-do list for this morning when I crawl out of bed.

Just read through those, they’re helpful (though the placement of the documentation link in the footer keeps throwing me off – it’s the last place I would think to look after scrolling through everything on the page.)

Here’s the header on the listing page – you will have to scroll to see how it becomes “dysfunctional”:

    http://www.appnetprojects.com/wassupin/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=+&snear=&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=

Here’s the header on a details page where it works as intended:

    http://www.appnetprojects.com/wassupin/places/united-states/nv/las-vegas/las-vegas-cafe/starbucks-89/

As I noted before, I’m not sure if it’s possible to increase the size in a specific area (between popular categories and the search bar) but have noticed the category icons show extremely small – that would be my next question (to enlarge them); let me know if that should go in another support ticket or if it’s related.

    Thanks!
