August 6, 2019 at 10:08 pm in reply to: Is there a way to turn off contact form per listing? #501690
I can’t leave it blank because I have emails required. I don’t want to change that because it’s how listings are verified, isn’t it?
I like the idea of having a separate email field for the form…but how do I set that up in the backend to be for the form?
What do you mean “with a different key”?
Ok, I am sort of understanding…can you give me an example of what kind of a bonus package they might have? I’m trying to picture that.
This reply has been marked as private. This reply has been marked as private. That’s the page I’ve been looking at and it doesn’t have a lot of specific info. It still requires me to go to the shortcode builder to find the specifics…and I’m finding there are times that the builder or the widget doesn’t have the info I need, and I’ve had to dig into the forums to find specifics that someone has posted.
It would be SO MUCH EASIER if at least the main parameters were listed. The only thing listed on that page is a very brief description. Very little about what the possible parameters could be. All that seems to have to be found through clicking boxes in the widgets or shortcode builder.
Uh, except the hide empty didn’t work.
Is this the proper code:
hide_empty=”1″At first this didn’t work…but then I tried it again and it did! Something with the spacing or something weird like that…so odd. But it seems to have worked finally! YAY! Thank you!
Nevermind, I contacted the tech support on my theme, just in case it was a theme issue instead of a GD issue and they were able to give me a link on their site to the code to reset the page and it works again. Still not entirely sure how I managed to break it, but at least I know now how to fix again in the future should something like this happen again!
Oh nevermind about the colors…I figured that out…they were new subcategories that I hadn’t yet set the background color to white on them. DOH.
But I do still need help with the wonky spacing issue. This is bizarre!
Ummmm, so I’m really confused right now…
I was playing around with moving the elements around on the GD archive page. And now it’s all messed up. All I did was move the shortcode around! I didn’t actually change anything!According to the documentation, it SHOULD be that simple! Just move the code around!
But look: https://homeschoolrealm.com/wordpress/businesses/category/kids-sports/
Now the items have no space between them and the top one is by itself in a column??? Spacing is all wonky…Why???
Perfect! Thank you!! Now, how do I customize the colors and size of the icons? It’s showing tiny icons and grey background.
Being able to only see the most recently used tags isn’t as useful as them being able to see ALL existing tags.
I’m not sure I understand why tags would be about user input since then you will end up with a bunch of single-use tags. What’s the point in tags that are only used by one listing? I like to have a tidy list of tags that are actually used by multiple listings, vs a huge long list that is too huge and wieldy to visually make it through. Useful tags vs useless. Which is why I would prefer they didn’t make them themselves. Though I suppose I can still edit them after the fact? Just more time-consuming.
Figured it out, thanks!!
What do you mean? To what?
I do now. I swear I read that page before multiple times and didn’t see that image there before…was that recently added? It seems more fleshed out now. It was really vague before.
Plus, when I tried adding the author actions widget before, when I was fiddling with all the widgets, it did nothing. Now it does.
Ok so now I have done a test franchise but I don’t see how they show any indication in the front end that they are tied together? They just show as separate listings, as far as I can tell?
