No one on the site except me and if there are any people that decide to claim or pay for their listing. (not many yet)

I didn’t know we could hide the delete link…I’ll check that out. But that’s not relevant here, since I would be the only one that could have deleted these.

I have added them all back now, but am still perplexed as to how they disappeared in the first place. And so many.

I just noticed that deleting a location can delete the listing…but I am pretty sure that I would have noticed that note that pops up warning me of this…but that’s a possibility, I suppose…since all of these had originally been set as a county and I decided to get rid of county option and go with just city. I really should take notes on all the stuff I do since things will happen months apart and I have the world’s worst memory and cannot remember what I did!!

I won’t be surprised if it’s user error…I just would like to figure out what I may have done so I don’t repeat it.

I also noticed that now that I’ve re-added the listings that it’s taken some doing to get the listings to show in the categories again. I’m having to go into the listings and out again to get the categories to register those listings again, even though they are clearly listing the categories. That’s tedious. Also, all the images are showing on the frontend of the listings, uploaded properly through the import…but on the backend they have yet to show in the admin list of listings. Not a huge deal really but just kinda annoying. I’m thinking I need to do something like I did with the categories to get the system to “see” that things have been uploaded in this import way instead of via the backend? *shrug*

Anyway…back to the deleted listings…they are replaced now so I’m not sure what you’d be looking for if you poked around in my site…would it show anything at this point?

Yes, areas served would be an excellent solution for this. For now, I have decided to just have my customers write “mobile business” for the address field, choose their place of origin in the city field and put the details of the areas served in the description field. I didn’t want to have them separated on my site…sooooo…let me know when you guys get a different solution created. That would be great!

Only the last one? So it wouldn’t work for one that doesn’t have an expiration?

Ok, done. But then it reset it to 1/1/20. So I did it again just to see if something went wonky, and now it reset it to 12/31/19.

Ok, got it, thanks. I’ve set that the way I want it, per package…but what do I do for the places>settings>custom fields>description>show advanced>show advanced editor box? I have it currently NOT ticked. Does it matter? Do the boxes in the package settings override this box?

So should I delete the expiry date that’s currently there? Or just leave it?

Oh, hm. I don’t remember doing that, but then I totally might have while I was figuring stuff out, I suppose. Wouldn’t surprise me. Is that also why it says undefined?

So I don’t have to do anything? Is my manual expiry not going to mess anything up? Does the Paypal expiry always take precedence?

Yes it was canceled in Paypal, AFTER a payment came out. Now it says that it’s overdue, when the payment came in and he should be good through next month. See attached image.

And it only says that after I refresh the page. It starts with saying “undefined”. Then I refresh and it says what it shows on that image. Then it goes back to “undefined” again.

The Paypal payment came out on Jan 6. So I think it should have refreshed to expiring Feb 6? I’ll post login info on a separate post.

I’m looking at the documentation on this subject with a different understanding now and I see where I got confused. The wording seems unclear in places to me. If I could suggest some changes?

For example, on the import/export section, this part:

    “About filenames:

    URL

To upload new images, use the filename like this:
    filename.extension
If you already have uploaded the image to an existing listing, the file URL will be shown like this:
https://mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/year/month/filename.extension Note: It is not possible to reference images in the Media Library in this way. This URL is only shown as an example.”

I read through that prior to importing and did not at all get out of that what Guust explained much better to me above. Because I didn’t get the significance of what I was reading, I didn’t see it was what was causing much of my problems.

I think more clear wording there plus specific examples (ALWAYS so helpful to have visuals and specific examples for people like me to wrap our brains around what you are trying to explain) would be extremely helpful and save confusion and back and forth like this? Just a suggestion.

I GOT IT!! That was it! I was using full paths! I used the right link and now it works!

I like that it doesn’t fill up media with all the images too! I didn’t realize it would do that if I did it this way. Bonus!

That first image’s message…I’ve never gotten that message after importing my CSV files. Why would that be?

Does it matter that I put the entire URL in the post_images column? Would that be causing my problems?

Well I tried editing the image link like you said. Nothing changed. Everything is exactly the same, whether I upload the image beforehand or after. What now?
