I would like to ask if you have achieved something by now. I have not heard anything since September 18. It’s a really big problem for me. TippDschungel.de is a new platform where the ability to upload images is crucial. As long as that does not work properly, I can not go live with the site. I have already invested a lot of money in this page and can not put it into use until the upload issue is resolved. Especially at the beginning it is important that everything works properly, otherwise the users will jump right back!

I am therefore urgently asking for a message on how to proceed. The developers have already been alerted. What has been done since then?

    Hi Patrik,

Unfortunately, the problem still exists. In your test listing, I can delete the picture and upload new pictures. But that does not work in almost all other listings. Even if I create a new listing, I can not replace the image later or upload new images. It worked once out of 10 tries and 9 times did not work.

The post type “places” is not used by us. We have created 3 own post types and only those should be used. So I have to remove your test entry again, otherwise in the search also “places” are listed, which should not be yes.

    Regards,
    Samuel

I made my translation suggestions on wp-org. The suggestions were accepted and the language file adapted. This has solved the problem for me. Many Thanks!

Somehow we will not get any further. I still have the problem that my translation file is overwritten by the gd translation file of WordPress.org. Unfortunately the translation of WordPress.org is not complete. The word “review” is not translated. I like to provide my translation. It is the same translation as WordPress.org, except that the word “review” is translated here. I attach my translation with me.

Nevertheless, I do not understand the logic of gd. Why am I given no opportunity to use my own translation. In such a way that it will not overwritten by WordPress or updates? Why does this work with other plugins, but not with gd?

When I upload my translation file, afterwards the backend says that there are new translations. When I update the translations in the backend, in /wp-content/languages/plugins will overwrite my translation file. That means, everything I translated in German, is now in the language file English again.

    Example: “Review”
In my translation is here “Bewertung”.
After I have updated the translations in the backend, my language file is overwritten and it is again “Review” in the file.

    Hello Stiofan.
The snippet seems to work. The language file will no longer be overwritten.
However, in the backend dashboard / updates you can see that new translations are available. (look attachment) If I update the translations now, the language file will be overwritten in wp-content / languages / plugins /.

I placed the GD core language file into a new /wp-content/languages/plugins/geodirectory/ folder. The translation will not be considered by GD. Instead, the wrong language file is saved and used again into the /wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder.

Unfortunately the code snippet of Alex does not change the problem either.

Of course I have a current backup.
At first, of course, I see that the translations in the frontend have changed. For example, the original file states “Review.” In my translation it says “Bewertung”. You can see that very well on the start page (tippdschungel.de).

Then I check the speech file on the web server. Here I see that the modification date of the file has changed. The file was overwritten. When I download the language file and open it with Poedit, I see that my translations no longer exist.

I will now upload my language file again. It would have to be “Bewertung” in the frontend again. If you now make an update or install a new plugin, the language file will be overwritten again. Try it yourself and install a plugin (for example “EU Cookie Law”). Once installed, the language file is overwritten. The new plugin does not have to be activated for this. The installation is sufficient.

    Hello Guust.
    Thank you for your help.
I have uploaded my language file again, because in your language file the word “Review” is not translated to German.

    I did all updates.

    I deactivated Loco Translate.

Nevertheless, the gd language file is overwritten with every update. It does not matter which update I make. It does not have to be a gd update. Every update in WordPress overwrites the gd language file again.

This only happens with the gd language file. All other language files remain stable.
