May 19, 2019 at 7:27 am in reply to: Paid Claims not following post paid status set in package #487377This reply has been marked as private.
New thread created as suggested by Alex:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/paid-claims-not-following-post-paid-status-set-in-package/
Alex,Kiran, this thread is getting very long, and going nowhere. So let me try again to put this as clearly as i can:
1. This thread was initiated because there was a messaging saying “your claim requires a payment to complete”, even when a claim was made with a free package. As this was misleading, I had requested if this could be changed.
2. At that time, I also observed that BOTH new paid listings, AS WELL as claimed paid listings, were going into DEFAULT (PENDING REVIEW) status after claim approval. Then as even now, I was on my dev site and using the test mode in the WP invoicing, with no payment gateway. So paid claims were also following the same paid status as new posts. This was understood, and also confirmed by Alex’s understanding : “If the claim happens at the same time as the payment, then paid listing status will take effect.” (#481808)
3. To address the issue raised in point #1 above, about the messaging for free claims, Kiran addressed the issue and informed that now free claims will no longer go thru checkout (#476847)
4. After testing the fix by Kiran, I reported in #481798 that while the messaging issues for free claims was fixed, however, now even paid claims were not going into “PENDING REVIEW’ status as they were earlier. [ Here in my post #481798 and #481801 I was a bit confused about whether there was a separate setting for post paid status of claims and new, but Alex clarified as above in #481808 that paid claims and paid new followed the same path and there is no separate handing of paid claims, and paid claims have same status as paid new listings . Alex’s comments was consistent with my own observations as mentioned in point 2 ]
5. Since then I have only been trying to point out that now “paid claims are NOT following the same paid status as new posts” – clearly this is not what was observed earlier, on same site, same CPT and same payment gateway , and this now also contradicts what Alex had stated, hence something seems to have broken with the change made to fix the messaging.
I hope the issue is clear now….I shall again, share all the information requested about, which package, CPT etc, as Alex has requested.
Thanks, Vivek
Hi Alex, Kiran – just checking if any update on htis please.
As per my understanding (also Alex’s in #481808) after payment the status would be as set in package paid status, irrespective of whether it is a new listing or claim.
That is also how it was happening earlier – before the messaging issue for a free claim which i had raised in this ticket originally, was fixed.
Apparently, the ‘messaging’ fix also changed the logic and now paid claims are not following the paid status set in package.
Do please let me know about this
thanks,
VivekThis reply has been marked as private.“On invoice marked as a published it checks what status set under CPT Settings > Packages > Package > Paid Listing Status. If here “Paid Listing Status” set “publish” then it will mark listing as a published. If “Paid Listing Status” set pending then listing will remain pending until listing reviewed from admin.”
Kiran – this is exactly what i have been saying, that it is not working like this. Please see my first post on this subject above ( #481798) which says that my listing is published, despite the paid listing status being set as pending.
This reply has been marked as private. Not sure what you mean- this is already the test mode in Pricing Manager – did you mean something else?
In the invoice Payment Meta it says:
Gateway: Test Payment
If this is not what you meant, then please let me know how to do that?
thanks,
VivekHi Kiran, this is still my dev site, and i don’t have any gateway integration done yet.
Earlier also, i had tested with the same test gateway and after claim approval the listing was going into pending status, now it is not going to pending status – so i believe something is broken now.
thanks, Vivek

But now the change made to fix the messaging, seeems to have affected the post status after claim (whether paid or free)
Hi Kiran
So I just checked this – on claiming a listing , with free package, this messaging is now not there, so it seems to be fine.
However, i just noticed another change in the claim working. Earlier, after a claim was approved, i could set the status to go to “Pending” – i think either there was a separate field setting in the ‘Packages’ page, or the paid listings setting itself (which i have set to Pending) was having the same effect on claims also – ie when a claim was approved, the author would change, however the listing would be in pending state.
Now i am finding that after approval of claim the listing is remaining in published state.
How can i put the listing status into pending/draft automatically after approval of claim, as was happening earlier? This is required to provide the new author (business) a window , also force them to review the information accuracy/completeness and then submit the changes.
thanks, Vivek
This reply has been marked as private. One other query- how can i make the recently viewed shortcode display all recently viewed listings (across all CPTs) – i tried post_type=”all_posts” and “cpt1,cpt2,cpt3” but neither worked?
thanks, Vivek
