Hi guys, is there any news? My site is very temperamental right now and causing outages. I’d really appreciate your urgent help.
Thanks,

I contacted my hosting the other day and they said this:
From navigating the site the following query appears to be running when the rate limiting starts (although it is fairly constant suggesting the query is regularly run):
9994898 whatsonh_wp1 localhost whatsonh_wp1 Query 9 Sending data SELECT ( SELECT GROUP_CONCAT( DISTINCT CONCAT( DATE_FORMAT( wp_geodir_event_schedule.start_date, ‘%d%m%y’ ), ”, DATE_FORMAT( wp_geodir_event_schedule.end_date, ‘%d%m%y’ ) ) ) FROM wp_geodir_event_schedule WHERE ( ( ( ‘2020-02-01’ BETWEEN start_date AND end_date ) OR ( start_date BETWEEN ‘2020-02-01’ AND end_date ) ) AND ( ( ‘2020-02-29’ BETWEEN start_date AND end_date ) OR ( end_date BETWEEN start_date AND ‘2020-02-29’ ) ) ) AND wp_geodir_event_schedule.event_id = wp_posts.ID ) AS schedules FROM wp_posts LEFT JOIN wp_geodir_gd_event_detail ON wp_geodir_gd_event_detail.post_id = wp_posts.ID LEFT JOIN wp_geodir_event_schedule ON wp_geodir_event_schedule.event_id = wp_posts.ID WHERE 1=1 AND wp_posts.post_type = ‘gd_event’ AND ((wp_posts.post_status = ‘publish’)) AND wp_geodir_gd_event_detail.post_id > 0 AND ( ( ( ‘2020-02-01’ BETWEEN start_date AND end_date ) OR ( start_date BETWEEN ‘2020-02-01’ AND end_date ) ) AND ( ( ‘2020-02-29’ BETWEEN start_date AND end_date ) OR ( end_date BETWEEN start_date AND ‘2020-02-29’ ) ) ) ORDER BY wp_posts.post_date DESCDoes this help?
That’s right. Most of the time, it will take a really long time to load the page, but then sometimes I’m getting database errors and the whole site goes down for about 30 seconds.
Yoast doesn’t work fully with Elementor page builder so it’s much harder to optimise landing pages.
I actually paid for the pro version a while back but then was recommended to rank math which works with Elementor but not 100% with Geo Directory.
Ok thanks Alex. The tags did work in Yoast. Is it down to the plugin themselves to make them compatible?
Thanks,
DaveAmazing! Thank you.
Hi Kiran,
Is there any way to adapt the previous snippet so that I could get certain regions to change to other ones?
For example…
There are several towns in the ‘north east Lincolnshire’ region. I’d like anytime that ‘North East Lincolnshire’ is selected as the region, that it changes to just ‘North Lincolnshire’.
Thanks,
DaveHi Alex,
It’s already disabled, but yet still showing on the front end.
Thanks,
DaveAh I see, thanks Alex.
Do you know a way that I can disable the rich text editor to show on that form? It’s copying the formatting from YouTube and wrapping it in those tags. A user would have to know to only paste text only but most won’t do that. If we can disable the rich text editor at least, leaving only the plain text editor, I think it would solve the issue.
Thanks,
DaveOk thanks. Can you please take another look at the image uploads where not all 12 get uploaded?
Thanks,
DaveI’ve just found your test…
Firstly, that’s via the backend admin panel. It’s the frontend form that causes the issue.
Also, you might see that it seems to be uploading multiple versions of the same image creating loads of duplicate images on my server.
Can you take a look at that also please?
Thanks,
DaveHi Guust,
Not sure what link you sent me, but there’s no test listing there.
Also, I tested it myself personally, and thought that could also be the issue with not waiting long enough to upload. So I waited a long time, for each file to upload properly. I filled in a couple of extra fields once the uploads were complete too. The images were only small files too. Trust me, it didn’t work.
Please can you help and take another look?
I’d recommend starting from this link:
https://whatsonhub.co.uk/add-listing/?listing_type=gd_place and uploading the maximum 12 images. You’ll need to select a Premium listing package first, and then use GOLDCUSTOMER discount code at the checkout to send it live. Thanks,
