    HI,

I am struggling to add multi locations and neighborhoods as Thailand is divided as follows:
    Country: Thailand
Province: example Phuket (there are about 76 provinces)
District: example Kathu (there are 3 districts in Phuket)
Sub-District: example Patong (these are the cities)
Beaches: example Kalim beach (these are the neighborhoods)

So an address is as follows:
Kalim Beach (neighborhood), Patong (city), Kathu (sub-district – could be the region), Phuket (province – could be the region), Thailand

As you can see I am missing a field in the addresses as I can not add the district and the sub-district as the region…

Can I add a field and can I rename the existing ones?

    Thank you,
    Tony

Hi Tony, that is not possible. You should use the suggestions by Google when dragging the marker, or you will get issues in the future, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/definitions/#location

    See also image.

    Thanks

Ok, thank you. Problem is that the addresses offered by Google are terrible due to translation, so most of them are incorrect…

    Thank you,
    Tony

You can change the street addresses to anything you like, but the city, region and country should follow Google’s suggestions. Users can add their listings just by dragging the marker to the correct spot, and then correct the Street Address.
    Thanks

    Hi,

I understand how it works, it’s just that the Google suggestions are wrong as for most areas they are using the city as sub-district, meaning that city simply doesn’t exits. So basically the word ‘city’ should be ‘sub-district’ in most cases… I’ll have a meeting with our team tomorrow to see what they think.

    Thank you,
    Tony

    Hi,

we have deleted our old Joomla site and transferred the new WordPress site to the correct url before we wanted to make more changes. We figured out that Google is using the Sub-districts as Cities, something we can live with. We’ve added our existing clients and it all seemed to be working, but now we wnated to add a test listing using the procedure any new user would need to follow, and we ran into the following issues / problems:

    1. new user and admin get an email, but user doesn’t have to confirm through the email, gets signed in automatically.
    2. we added the invoice plugin and added the Thai currency, but on the form the rates for the packages are still in USD
    3. when filling in the the address on the form (and this is where we get to the original ticket) we run into problems:
Geocode was not successful for the following reason: zero_results
Only after allowing permission to show our location to the site, it allowed us to give in our address, but it refuses to accept the correct zip-code and keeps changing the neighborhood.
When we only type in the street and then click on the target button that reads “My location” it fills in the correct country, region (which is the province), city (which is not the city but the sub-district), and it fills in some neighborhood that nobody uses. But the zip-code is correct.

We simply don’t see a way to explain all this to a new user, trying to get them to overwrite the address, only click one time on the ‘Set Address on map” because if they do it again after adjusting the house number and the neighborhood, the map marker goes completely somewhere else and they have to start all over again.

Sorry gentlemen, but if we don’t get this to work properly we won’t get 1 single user to sign up. Most will give up after the 2nd try…

    the new url is https://getdirections.asia

    Thank you,
    Tony

    Hi Tony

    1. new user and admin get an email, but user doesn’t have to confirm through the email, gets signed in automatically.
I am guessing you are using GD’s login and register page which tries to make it as easy as possible by not requiring verification.
If you want verification, I suggest to use our UsersWP plugin which has that as an option: http://userswp.io/

    2. we added the invoice plugin and added the Thai currency, but on the form the rates for the packages are still in USD
I am guessing you have to change the title of the packages, by editing “Title to be display while add listing” for each package.

    3. when filling in the the address on the form (and this is where we get to the original ticket) we run into problems:
Geocode was not successful for the following reason: zero_results

I suggest not to use neighborhoods, they always need to be selected by the user, they will never be filled automatically.
One option is to hide the “set on map” button, and tell users to drag the marker to the correct spot, and then adjust the street address.

If we need to look at anything else, please post WP admin details in a private reply.

    Thanks

There are a few options that can be looked at but you cant add another level, you suggest 5 but the max is 4.

    1. We could look at changing the region /city vales returned by google api, if the api returns what you want as other non used items.
    2. For regions if they don’t exist we can add a predefined array depending on zipcode returned (if zipcode is used)
    3. Manually add all locations and have users manually set them.

If you give me a gps co-ordinates for a locations i will tell you all the info the API returns, it might be that there is more useful info in other fields not used.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
