Hi All.
I need some noob support. I have worked other themes and plugins before so i am not a total amatuer.
I am struggling a bit with Geodirectory though!
First time using it and i have downloaded the latest version from the website.
———————————————————-
I am having a little trouble setting up the layout and adding listings one by one. I would be happy for the homepage to look just like the one on the supreme directory demo.
I cannot seem to select the location page as my homepage. It is greyed out?
I can only find an information video for the previous version which uses a CSV file to upload locations. I would like to add my locations one by one. My Google maps API key doesn’t seem to be working, even though the account is connected and payment approved.
Is there any video out there showing how to set up V2 as a finished directory ready to upload places onto?
This will be one of three directories which i will also be using the multiplace plug in on as they are UK wide!
April 2, 2019 at 8:24 am #477435Update
I have resolved the Google Maps Issue.
Currently, I need help with;
1) Setting the location page as my homepage. It is currently greyed out and unable to select.
2) I have tried to upload a CSV file but it will not accept it. I am assuming any CSV file I upload needs to follow the same format as the dummy CSV file available?
3) I want my homepage to look the same as the supreme directory demo homepage but for my search bar I only need a section where the person can enter their postcode.
April 2, 2019 at 3:35 pm #4775101. It is not possible to use the location page as the home page. To make a front page try this:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/getting-started/front/
2. Add a listing, then export it and use that CSV. Merge your data into the exported CSV file. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/import-export/#recommended3. We will try to work that up but in the meantime you can start here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/getting-started/front/
April 2, 2019 at 10:20 pm #477650Wonderful thank you.
Is there a way to edit those search boxes?
Right now I have two boxes one for ‘search for’ the other for ‘near’
Ideally I want to remove the ‘search for’ box and just have the word ‘castles’.Thanks.

Last question, i am going to purchase and download the location manager add-on.
I want to use this for the whole of the UK.
Will it work from the one search? I.E there won’t be a different page for each city in the UK.
People will land on my homepage where it says ‘near me’ in the search bar. They will enter their city or postcode and it will bring up everything in a 25 mile radius – as i have set it to 25 miles?
Thanks a bunch.
April 3, 2019 at 10:42 am #477810No, you can search all your listings with a single search bar.
You will get pages for each city/region etc but those are created automatically to help with SEO (and as they are Location pages they have special properties like showing more than one post type at a time).
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/page-design/
There is also a “Near Me” button that works exactly as you say, using the default search radius that you set in the search settings.
April 3, 2019 at 1:37 pm #477910Thanks for your help.
I am more or less set up and i am now adding in locations.
Another question though!
On my homepage i have locations at the bottom or when i search for locations and numerous search results come up. When i click on one, it says ‘not found’
Blank page. But the Google maps on the homepage has all the pin locations in it and the locations are in the places tab?

Thank you for all your help!
Do you have a recommended Scheme plug in for use with listings?
And finally, when i upload pictures to the drag and drop section i am unable to edit the ALT tag att. Is there a way to do this? or will one be coming?
Thanks!
