Bulk CSV Importer not working, nothing happens

    No matter what file I select it will not import. The page just does not do anything. I also noticed on the top of the page it always says “selected=’selected'”

    I have even used open office only. What is the largest Line and File size a import can be besides serverside limits?
    After selecting file I get no additional functions or loading bar. This is a stock install.

    Hi,

    the only file I see attached is completely wrong and the last you attached was too big in size. Can you please attach your latest file?

    For the 1st file I can tell you the error are delimiters. Delimiters should be ” (double quotes) and , (commas).

    Right now if I open it with right delimites I see all data mixed up (see image attached).

    Hi,

    The field delimiters of the CSV file are wrong. They should be commas and not semicolons.

    If you are using openoffice, to correct this you can do the following:

    1 Click on “Save as”
    2 Enable “Edit filter settings” and save.
    3 Change field delimiter from semicolon to comma.
    4 click OK.

    That seems to have worked ok for my test of 200. Now I need to import more, but anything more then 500 listings does nothing when trying to upload. I tried 1000, nothing happened, then 800. I got the loading bar and it loaded 1.6MB/1.9MB

    What exactly is the max, I should not have any limits as everything is set to max or 180 seconds+ or -1 in the php.ini. I need to import 50,000 listings and this is going to be a nightmare, manually copying 500 or less rows then importing.

    So what are the regulations relating to this. This specific site is on a reseller account but I can move to a VPS if theres some hidden host-imposed limit stopping me(there should not be). I just need some guide lines on max lines and file size

    Hi,

    if you are on a shared server that’s the problem, you don’t have enouch RAM to do bigger imports.

    Still doesnt do anything when selecting files with morethen around 500 lines. Can I have some guidelines on how this works exactly because without any errors or guidelines in the doc about this, i just have to keep trying random amounts of lines until it works. I moved the site completely to a VPS with 16 G RAM and it struggles with a 2 MB file . PLEASE HELP! I spent the entire day doing this to find out the result is the same.
