Can you please explain more about the google api? I’ve read through this help article, but I still feel pretty confused:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/add-google-api-key/

From what I can gather, it seems like I need to connect to a google cloud account with billing enabled. When I checked the pricing for api usage HERE it seems like it could get really expensive, really fast. I can easily imagine getting 200,000 visitors/month once my directory is up and running, which would cost more than $1,000 per month if each visitor loaded a map.

Is that right? Does it really cost that much to run a directory website?

    Hi Kim McKenney,

Thanks for your post. Yes, it is costly if you have a very high amount of visitors. You can choose to use Open Street Maps which is free as explained here https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/general/#general .

can you point me to an example of a directory that only uses open street maps and not google maps?
