Clicking Suggested Location Incorrect Results

If I leave the “search for” box blank, type a location and run the search, I will find all listings in or near that location. If I leave “search” blank, begin typing a location and then select it from the drop down and run the search, I’m given every listing in the directory, sorted by recently added. Why are the drop down locations not functioning?
