    Hi,

I’m using the thrive theme plugin to edit all my wordpress pages. However, having setup a wordpress site with the geodirectory plugin and theme, I cannot edit the website. I basically cannot edit any elements on the website.

Is there a general incompatibility with the thrive theme plugin?

    Many thanks
    David

    Hello!

We aim for compatibility, and there are no currently known issues: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/known-issues/

We’d be happy to take a look at your site to discover what the issue is. We can check that by disabling all non-GD plugins and seeing if the issue with Thrive persists. Have you already done that?
If not, what happens when you try? Are you sure it is Thrive?

You can make a private reply and include your site URL along with admin credentials in case you would like us to take a look at your site settings. Please also include FTP access. Only staff will see the details. A staff member will use the details to login and assess the conflicts. If a quick fix can make us compatible, great. If not, we can point you in the right direction for a discussion with Thrive devs.

    Let us know!

    Thanks!

    Hello!

We just had a look at someone’s Thrive site : https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/h3-title-tags-hidden/#post-404564

It looks as if there is some inline style stripping happening from the header?

So, CSS for GD should be added to GD > Design > Scripts > Footer

    Else they might not show

    Hi Alex

Thanks so much for your reply!

Unfortunately, my website is local on my computer (via MAMP), so I can’t provide any FTP login.

I have set-up 2 wordpress sites locally, one with the GD theme and plugin and one without. The latter can be edited with Thrive Themes (=Thrive Architect plugin) without problems. However, for the wordpress site with the GD theme and plugin I cannot edit any elements using Thrive Themes. Please note that I have only 2 activated plugins, i.e. GD and Thrive Themes. I have already disabled GD to see if content becomes more editable, but this results only in the possibility to add new elements to the page with Thrive Architect, but still not to edit the existing GD theme.

I had a look at the link on the other issue, but understand someone had only a very specific problem on the header, while I have a more generic problem of not being able to edit the GD pages at all.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Many thanks
    David

    Hello!

We found that other issue to be a Thrive and provided a workaround. We are unaware of additional issues at this time.

You probably already know that most GD pages are generated from templates. You can tell us more about what you are trying to ‘build’ with the plugin to see if that is something that would be supported.

What do you mean when you say “but still not to edit existing GD theme.”

When you decide to publish your site we will be happy to take a look at it, just let us know!

    Thanks!

Thrive Architect is just one of these top website builders like Beaver, which GeoDirectory is compatible with. So I would have thought that compatibility would be given with most top website builders. Editing the website without a builder plugin makes it unfortunately quite cumbersome.

    Hello David,

As mentioned above, we found workarounds for issues. Some builders need some extra CSS here and there to preserve GD styles, or comments for some conflicting code. We list all known issues here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/known-issues/

Those points aside, GD is compatible with all the major builders afaik.

    Thank you Alex.

I wish this was true, but as I mentioned before, I basically can’t make edits with Thrive Architect once the GD plugin is installed/activated.

It’s not about a few flaws for which workarounds are needed, thrive architect is not compatible at all with GD. Practically speaking, if I try to click on any elements on my website to edit these (via Thrive Architect) as one would normally do, the items cant be selected and thus not edited.

I will now look into manually editing the sites via coding.

    Hi David,

Could you possibly upload the site to a staging URL so that we can check further?

    Thanks!
