    Hi Harry,

This is the section of the documentation that explains how to change the copyright text https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-change-the-footer-text-in-supreme/ . If you need further assistance, please provide WP temp admin access in private reply.

    Thanks!

I had done all that and added the code snip provided by you guys.

I updated the theme this morning and thats when it reverted back.

I restored my site back to yesterday 1/3/2018 and it is fine.

I guess I am going to create a child theme and then update the Supreme Theme.

However the copyright is the only thing the updated messed with.

I did try and delete the code snip and redo it but no luck.

I dont have a lot of customization but could be in the future so I will create child theme

    thanks Harry Rhoades

You cannot create a child theme of SUpreme, it is already a child theme of DIrectory Starter.
    See also https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/supreme-directory-overview/#preserve

    Thanks

    Hi Harry,

We have updated the code snippet https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-change-the-footer-text-in-supreme/ to reflect the changes from the SD update.

    Thanks!

Just to piggyback on this: I’ve tried to simply change the copyright date in the backend but keep getting “Something went wrong. Your change may not have been saved. Please try again. There is also a chance that you may need to manually fix and upload the file over FTP.”

I then added the code snippet, but it doesn’t appear to make any changes – is this because the code already exists in the Theme Functions? I can’t edit and save my changes without FTP setup so I’m not certain if it’s overriding the snippet.

Also, I have the notice for new versions of Directory Starter and Supreme Directory to update. Since this is my first time, I just want to make sure I’m understanding this correctly: any customizations made in Supreme Directory should be unaffected as it’s a child theme, correct?

    Thanks!

    Hi James,

Could you possibly create a new topic and share your WP admin credentials on your second reply? Make sure it is marked as private reply. I’d like to take a look at your site to make sure that you’ve everything prepared for this update.

    Thanks!

    Just to be clear.

should I remove the old snip?

or should I place the css over in scripts custom

do the update and then replace the the old snip with what you showed me.

Harry, the code snippet at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-change-the-footer-text-in-supreme/ is not CSS. It needs to be placed in a code snippet of https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/useful-plugins/#snippets
Delete the old snippet or replace it.

    ok thanks.

I was just referring to something I read about moving the css changes to Design Scripts etc

Thank you I think I can get it now.

The Snippet for Altering the Footer for Directory Starter and Supreme Directory Child themes has been updated along with the latest release of the themes and can be found here:

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-change-the-footer-text-in-supreme/

Be sure that you have only added the snippet once, and that older version are removed.
