    Hi,
    Since I installed the update all of the “show in what locations” information has been lost in my custom fields. This really isn’t great as I have a lot of information displayed on the “more info” tabs. Can this be fixed easily or do I have to manually go in and re-do every single custom field for every Custom Post Type? My site isn’t yet live, but I won’t be able to afford for this kind of thing to happen once it is as paying businesses will be pissed. Is there a way to avoid this happening in the future?
    I’m concerned that other problems have probably crept in that I haven’t noticed yet too. Is there a way I can see what has been modified and what errors like this are occuring?
    Thanks, katie

    Hi Katie,

    I’ve just checked with a developer and he is asking if you can reverse the update on your Website so that he could perform a thorough check on it. You might want to check with your hosting provider for an earlier backup copy of your Website. If you’re able to do that, please share WP admin and FTP access to your server and I’ll pass this information to him.

    Thanks!

    Hi Katie,

    We have a few reports regarding the custom field issue. However, we can’t troubleshoot your Website since rolling back is not possible. I’ll inform the developers regarding this matter and let them investigate further. Meanwhile, to change the texts for “search for” and “near”, kindly use the translation method and here are the documentations for your reference.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
    A few other things have shown themselves to not be working optimally:

    1) The map info pop-up isn’t readable on my site. The business name sits on top of the photo (please see screenshot attached). Can you please tell me how this can be fixed?

    2) The directions box on the map doesn’t work. When you click on “directions” it brings up two boxes – one that allows you to select between driving/walking/etc and another that lets you chose between miles and kilometers, but then that’s it. It doesn’t actually give you any directions.

    3) Adding a listing. When I add text in the “profile” box (mine is called “description”) I include paragraphs so it’s easier to read the text, but when it published it to my site, it removes all the paragraphs.
    Same applies with the description box under Custom post type/advanced mode.

    4) Is there a way to make the “read more” text stand out on the listings page? At the moment it just reads like the rest of the paragraph (see screen shot attached – middle listing).

    5) Is the “manual excerpt” available for people to add text to in the “add listing” page? It doesn’t seem to be there.

    Thanks,
    Katie

    Hi Katie,

    Let me try to answer your questions accordingly and I’m sorry for the delay in response.

    #1 Check out this section of the documentation as it explains how you can style it. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/common-styling-examples/#bubble

    #2 The reason that happens is because Google map couldn’t capture your location. Are you using Chrome? If you are, you need SSL/Geolocation for the “Get Direction” to work.

    #3 Which one are you referring to? Screenshots please. If you’re referring to the default “description” field, you can enable “editor” in GD > Design > Listing > Show description field as editor

    #4 You can use custom CSS to style it. Insert the code below to GD > Design > Scripts > Custom Style CSS

    .geodir_category_list_view .geodir-entry-content a {
        font-size: 15px;
        color: red;
    }

    #5 You can create a new custom field for your custom excerpt. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/#custom

    Thanks!

    Hi Katie,

    Could you try using some HTML tags for that? Try “</br> or <p></p> tags. If it doesn’t work, could you please share the link to edit that?

    Thanks!
