Display all categories

    Hello,

    Maybe I’m missing something abvious here.. but how do I display all categories?

    I only see ‘popular categories’ .. but I want to show ‘all categories’ on the directory homepage. And ‘subcategories’ when someone is in a category page.

    Just like https://dir.yahoo.com/

    The Popular Categories widget will show all categories, and will adjust to the page your visitors are visiting.

    No it doesn’t.

    It always shows all categories, but with no hierarchy and doesn’t adjust to the page I am visiting.

    I have these categories for example:

    

    - A
-- AA
-- AB
-- AC
- B
-- BA
-- BB
-- BC
    

    The widget just shows
    
B BC AA AC A BA (in some random order, I think alfabelically)
    

    And it’s the same on every page.

    I meant it gives you the number of listings for the categories depending on the page you are visiting.
    
It will always show all categories for the custom post type you are visiting, but does not make a difference between categories and subcategories.

    Guust is right, at the moment, there isn’t a widget that will do exactly what you want.

    Will this be implemented in the future? Is seems to be a basic requirement of a directory website. How else should the visitors find the appropriate category?

    Hi,
    

    as of today, nobody requested it here. 
    

    We are open to develop more or less anything requested, if is voted by others members too. 
    

    We are getting to the point where finally we have started developing and already completed some of the most requested features.
    

    For example:
    
Multisite is done and being tested as we speak
    
New Advance Search, Improved GeoLocation and Shrtocodes are under development and not too far from being done.
    

    In the next 2 weeks we hope to have released all of the above.
    

    I’d suggest to submit your request in the features request system, other than us, other developers may be interested in creating addons too. 
    

    See Jeff for example who developed The Business Hours and The Vouchers Addons.
