    Hello GD Support.

I have attached a CSV to this message, where 14 out of 19 rows are failing to import. I only get told directly why 4 of them fail (Lines 2, 3, 4, 5), leaving me having to guess what’s wrong with the remaining locations.

Please could you advise why this is failing to import the majority of the data please?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

try zipping the file first. (*.zip)

Try out our recommended import process, it might give you some clues about what is happening

Hello Alex. I feel you may have misinterpreted my question – I’m talking about the CSV imports, not uploading the plugin.

    See attached screenshot, thanks!

I feel you may have misunderstood my post.

I was talking about zipping the files you are trying to upload. As you can see in your post above they were not attached.

If you open the file in Open or LibreOffice do you see any diamond/question mark characters? Those are ‘illegal’ and will be the cause of the failure.

Aha, yes okay, I see what you mean – CSV attached as a zip now. Thanks.

I currently don’t have either of those applications installed, will have to go through IT to get one of them installed, however I did check in a text editor (sublime text 2) for anything potentially suspicious and couldn’t locate anything.

Thanks for your help, hopefully we can get this solved.

I do not see any issues with sheet formatting but the sheet is missing columns.

    Do follow the recommend process:

    (I linked incorrectly, edited)

Unfortunately I can’t seem to obtain better information to be able to populate those cells in the few cases we’re missing information, such as the post code on row 2. When googling the address it seems to appear on the map just fine though – I had hoped the lat/long would be enough information for it to place the pin correctly.

I did just find out that adding them manually one at a time through the WP interface does work; it’ll take much longer, but I may just have to go through that method instead.

Thanks for looking into this, I appreciate it.
