I’ve set up the fields on a price package to have an option to make a listing featured but have this option only available to administrators. I have made it so that by default the option is unticked. However, when a new listing is created in this price package, the listing automatically becomes featured. I need it so that by default, none of the listings are featured unless an admin changes the setting manually.

Have I configured it wrong somehow or is this just how it works?

Tat is how it works. Once the Pricing manager addon is installed, the field’s value is automatically set. This is described in more details here:

So there’s no way to stop it being automatically set?

Only by disabling the Pricing Manager.

We have a task to work on a manual override for it, but that will be for a future version.
