Front end listing addition does not complete

    I am developing a website http://goodlocalevents.com and have been adding listings through admin. However this will not be the main public uses so we have some public listing pages set up. They seem to work fine and the listing goes through to “check your listing” but when the “publish” link is pressed nothing happens. I cannot see anything in the back end as to what has happened to the post. Nothing in drafts for example.

    I have not (yet) deleted the default listings page provided with installation of the plugin.

    I can provide admin area credentials if you need them and we do have event logging now operating on the server.

    Hi Conrad,

    Thanks for your reply. Just tested your Website and I’m able to see the issue there. Looks like you’ve configured everything correctly. Let’s perform the next troubleshooting, deactivate all non-gd plugins and try creating a new listing on the frontend and see if it works.

    It appears to be a problem with EWWW Image Optimizer. I had been moving towards using Resmush.it (not the same as the WPDev product) in any case so it is not really a problem for us but it will probably come up again so you need to know.

    Resmush.it seems OK – no conflicts with Geodirectory and a good product:

    It is also free where you need to pay to use the cloud get EWWW Image Optimizer to do all the stuff it is capable of.

    And you need to count your fingers any time you “shake hands” with anything originating with WPMU-DEV – the other ‘Smush’ people – in my opinion.
