    Hi,

I would like to change what the GD search finds, for example; can I change the near field to search for text within a listing or tags?

If I can change it to search for tags am I able to change the description within the add listing page so users can input multiple towns so when searching the near field the search results will also display places they listing has in the tags…

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for your post. Unfortunately, changing the “near field to search for text within a listing or tags” would require customization. Check out the “Filtering with custom fields” and see if you like those features https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/#custom

Ok, thanks, I will play with that, what about changing the text on the keyword description?

Changing text there, is done with the language file of the Pricing Manager:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translating-addons/

The search field will search tags, categories, titles and descriptions of listings: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/#search

    Thanks

Ok, so what I am trying to do is, I want the user to be able to input text into the 2 fields, and listings with both words in the same listing will display… Not sure if this makes sense…

The “search for” field will search tags, categories, titles and descriptions of listings: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/#search

The “Near” field searches based on geolocation of what is entered in that field, or the location of the listing: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/#near

If users add other location names as tags, the “search for” will find those listings if the tag is searched for.
Anything else is a customization outside support.

    Thanks
