Hi, I’d like to ask about the best way to add a new tab in the business listings next to Profile, Photos, Map, Reviews & Time…

I’d like to add an additional tab and name it “Daily Deal Specials” and link it to the vendor page / portfolio on our daily deals site/platform for ShopRVA business owners. How/what is the best way to accomplish this?

    Thank you,
    Robert

First create a custom URL field called “Daily Deal Specials”
Then create a tab at Places > Settings > Tabs

    Hi Guust,

Thank you for replying! Where do I create a custom URL field….? And…So when I create this new custom tab….will it be a link or a page that the business owner can then add their link to…? Meaning, will the visitor have only have to click on the tab to be immediately redirected over the the business owners daily deals portfolio or will they click on the tab and then have to click on a link to get over to the portfolio?

    Please explain how this works.

    Thank you,
    Robert

Create a a custom URL field called “Daily Deal Specials” at Places > Settings > Custom Fields > “URL” field on the left hand side.

That is where the user can add a link to the other site.

You can display that link anywhere: sidebar, in a new tab, in the profile or whatever.

It is the same as the “Website” or “Facebook” custom field, except you create it yourself.

This may help too to understand: https://wpgeodirectory.com/reordering-tabs-in-geodirectory-v2/

    Thanks

    Hi Guust,

This definitely helped us setup our packages for free and paid.

We still have one question to ask that we’re not seeing a solution for…if you could please provide us an answer.

How do we Exclude Reviews from our free listing package?

    Thank you,
    Robert

I think reviews can only be disabled per package with CSS.
I’ll get the developers to confirm.

    Hello Robert,

If you want to apply reviews functionality based on package then it is not possible.
But if you want to hide reviews tab then it can possible via css or snippet.

    Let us know.

    Kiran
