    HI,

I deleted the maps but I keep getting this message:

Geocode was not successful for the following reason: REQUEST_DENIED

    How do I correct it?

    Thanks

    Fred

If you don’t want to use Google, set your Maps API setting to OpenStreetMaps

GD – Settings – Show Advanced – Map settings – API

If that isn’t the issue write back with WP Admin credentials and a login URL so we can check the settings.

I was not able to login with those credentials.

The maps api setting is shown here:

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/general/

Where it says “Maps API” choose Open Street Maps

This is still coming from another theme or plugin because it is using a different API call than GD.

Please try deactivating plugins and/or switching themes to see which one is trying to load the Google geocoder.

    Please try this: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/faq/troubleshooting/#conflict-test
