I have a Classifieds website which I am running using GeoDirectory.

    URL is http://www.buyusedguns.com.au

I’d like to implement SEO as it needs to be more actively managed, and I can see that GeoD seems to be set up to work well with Yoast SEO – as opposed to other packages.

I’ve read https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/integrations/yoast/ but I’ve also seen quite a few threads on the support forum here regarding issues / problems with GeoD users and Yoast.

Naturally I need to be certain that whatever I do SEO wise isn’t going to break the site in any way, impacting on customers (and therefore my income).

I want SEO so that when people type in a search like “used guns” my site ranks highly, also keywords from ad, categories and posts.

The GeoD developer I hired who built the GeoD website says he is not very familiar with SEO, which is why I’m looking into this myself.

So what’s the current state of play regarding Yoast and GeoD? And settings are important to get right? etc

    Thank you.

You will want to review this as well

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/faq/seo/

We try to cover all of it in the docs.

I am not aware of any open tickets with items that are broken.

Once you try Yoast SEO for locations, for just one location, you can compare to GD by simply disabling Yoast and examining the meta data in the code.

Sorry unsure what you mean by –

I’ll have a read of that link, thanks

Also FYI this https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/integrations/yoast/#breadcrumbs appears to be missing some shortcode (not showing on my screen anyway)
