Hello, I am creating a Local Produce Directory for the Darwin city area that I live in. I have put Darwin City, Northern Territory, Australia in as the default location. However the map is treating the small suburb area called Darwin City as the entire City area. This is incorrect as there are many suburbs (about 15) that make up Darwin.

On the instructions it says ‘Drag the map or the marker to set the city/town you wish to use as the default location, then click save changes’. Why is it treating a small suburb like a city?

It seems to be working intermittently with one suburb in Alawa but is generaly excludeing any listings that are outside of the suburb of Darwin. The message says “Please choose any address of the (Darwin) city only”.

Is the limitation intentional. Do people have the buy an Add On just to see a neighbouring suburb?

Any suggestions for making it work all the time are much appreciated? Thanks

That is because how Google treats every suburb in Australia as a different city, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/definitions/#location

So the limitation comes from the Google Maps API.

    Thanks
