    Hi,

I cant seem to get the Google Maps API to work. I’ve created the API key and validated the domain etc but still doesn’t work. I know I can use the Open Map one which works fine but ideally would like to get the Google one working if possible. Any thoughts on what might be wrong and how to fix it would be much appreciated.

    Hello,

since the June changes to the Google Maps API, we have been more and more often advising that members should use the “Generate API Key” button/function inside the GD plugin in the settings at:

    GeoDirectory – Design – Map

Each new key can take some time to start working. Give it some time to start working, and once you verify that it is working, THEN proceed to add security restrictions to lock the key down to the domain if needed.

You will also of course need to setup billing with your API project.

Let us know how it goes

    Hi,

Thanks for that. Sorry quite new to this. I’ve attached the console error I get. I generated the api key by visiting the page advised in the plugin. You mentioned paying for this. Do I need to set up billing details with Google for this to work? I was under the impression you get so much usage for free?

Yes, you do need to setup billing with Google.

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, you need to setup billing in order to activate the API key. Also, share your WP admin access in private reply and we’ll check your Website backend.

    Thanks!
