    Hello!

I loaded up my GeoDirectory templates this morning to make some edits and have noticed the attached issue.

They can’t seem to be easily recovered with the recovery feature.

How can I fix this – and – prevent it from happening again?

    Thanks!

    Hi melissafdunn,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve checked and it looks like the blocks are broken. Have you tried ‘resolving’ it using the available options?

I have! Sadly it doesn’t seem to do anything. Do you have any ideas? Oddly I just logged in one day and found it that way.

This can happen if there are JS errors, even if they are from other plugins.

Are you seeing any issues on the page? If you are you can recreate the blocks that are causing a problem.

You can also try adding shortcodes to HTML blocks.

The front end template itself is loading completely fine, I only see this issue in the backend when using the Gutenberg editor.

Everything worked fine for a good 2-3 months before this happened – so – I would ideally not rebuild the templates this late in the game.

There’s no way to resolve this otherwise?

If the option to restore the blocks is not working then it will have to be redone, yes, but only at the point where you need to edit it, if it is working as expected now.

It does actually seem to work – though – oddly after running the restore the block disappears until you “update” the page and then it seems to come back just fine.

I’ll assume this is just a Gutenberg quirk. Thanks for the help!

Good. They are continuing to improve Gutenberg. That does not mean they are making it easier for developers to do awesome things with it, necessarily, but, let us hope they make it more resilient for content.
