I have read the post on here that addresses this question and the explanation given does not work for me.

I have added all of the following short codes to the “ACCOUNT” template as well as the “PROFILE” template and I cannot produce any content that allows a user to edit their listing.

    [uwp_account]
    [uwp_author_box]
    [uwp_user_actions]
    [uwp_profile_actions]
    [gd_author_actions]
    [gd_cpt_listings]

Since my last support request I have purchased Genesis and two child themes, neither will produce a link or content whee the user can edit their listing. The closest is a drop-down box that loops the customer into the account page … which doesn’t show a link for editing.

I have added the above via widgets as well as direct short-codes into the templates.

    Please advise.

As explained on our getting started page, there are several important elements that should be included in your site:

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/getting-started/#sidebar-widgets

Specifically, GD > Author Actions is the element that shows the edit/delete/add-franchise links.

It should be added to the archive item template and also somewhere on the GD details template, most commonly in the sidebar as a widget.

The default shortcode has an argument that the links should only be shown on the author page. This is a fine setting if you are using UserWP. If you place a list of listings for a user in another place, then that should be disabled.

You will also need to complete the setup of UsersWP integration to show listings on the profile, as described here:

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/integrations/userswp/

Once that is done, though it is not mentioned there, you can visit your menu and use the UsersWP links to add links to profile and account.

If you have done those things, then please share some details about where you are seeing the issue.

Thanks a lot Alex. I had deleted a lot of the canned content when I switched themes and did not have all of the proper widgets loaded.

Your post was extremely helpful, thank you.

I do have one issue in which I’m dealing with, I’m sure it’s pilot error. When I am logged in as admin, the GD widget boxes for the front page show up.

However, when I am logged out or, logged in as a user, they are not showing up?

    Glad that helped!

the Page ‘In Ellijay’ is set as the GD location page and so cannot be set as the site home page.

I created another page with the same content and it worked. Then I set that as the home page and all the content disappeared.

I suspect the theme is set to ‘do something’ to the page that is set as the front page but I cannot see what.

I have flagged your question for the developers to take a look.

In the future, when you have a new topic, please create a new topic.
