I have just upgraded to version 2 and now fields are displaying on my archives pages that I don’t want to display. For example, how do I hide the description field using shortcode?

Also how do I stop the description from displaying twice on the details page?

    Hi Josh,

Thanks for your post. You can refer to this section of the documentation that explains how to customize it https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/places/tabs/ . Let us know how it goes.

Thanks, I was able to stop the description from displaying twice on details page.

But I do not see in documentation how to hide certain fields on Archive pages or on Listing pages only. For example, I do not want the description to display on the Listings page.

GDV2 has extraordinary options for personalization.

You can completely change the listing Detail page by editing the GD Details template as shown here:

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/templates/details/

The same goes for the archive item template: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/templates/archive-item/

In the pic above you are showing the tabs. Try removing the “Profile” sub tab to hide the second post_content field.

If we need to check the settings, please send a link to a page that is having an issue and explain the change you want to make, then include WP Admin credentials in case we need to login.

    Thanks

I have read through all of the documentation but I am still unable find an answer to my specific question: how to edit the shortcode so that I can HIDE the PROFILE (or any other field) on the Listing page. Please see the second screenshot I attached called “listing page hide.png” not the first image I attached.

    Thanks!

We cannot answer that any better without seeing the page.
Please send a link in a private reply so we can advise you where to edit it.

You can also post your template here and we can advise.
