    Hi guys,

I am convinced this Geodirectory is the best plugin available for its purpose and appreciate all the work you do to keep it updated and adding new features.

I would like to suggest writting a tutorial or post about image sizes recommendations so that we can recommend our users as well. I know for instance there is an option to keep wordpress default 1024×1024 or Geodirectory 800×800 but anyway there are a bunch of topics related to image sizes like:
    -Logo
    -Main image
    -Listing slider
    -Thumbnails
    -Featured image
    etc.

I have tried to find it in the Documentation and can find “chunks” isolated but a post about all the image sizes would be a great help for everyone.

    Thanks,
    Eduardo

    Hi Eduardo,

Thanks for your feedback. We will definitely look into it. Anyway, are you having any issues with GD at the moment? If you are, please share your Website URL together with some screenshots and some explanation and we’ll look into it asap.

    Thanks!

Hi Eduardo, if you let us know a bit more detail of the information you are thinking of, can you explain a bit more.
Like logos are theme specific, so that information will be different for each theme.
Not sure what you mean with “main image” so can you explain a bit more?

    Guust, Kor,

Thank you for your comments. What I am looking for is for a guide to have the proper image size to upload in GD, I had some issues at the beggining specifically for the featured image, site logo and the map markers (those issues have been already overcame). Later on I see that some user uploaded images tend to enlarge for the listing main image, not a very big deal but having a guide about image suggested sizes would be great so that we recommend it to the users as well. I use supreme directory theme.

    Thanks

The image sizes for Supreme are explained here:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/supreme-directory-overview/

We’ll add some documentation for replacing the logo in Supreme and some documentation around listing images, including slider.

    Thanks

    Hi Kor, Guust,

Thank you for all your support. Attached you will find an screenshot as an example of my suggestion to help users understand the best approach. For instance, the image in the listing slider looks fine (top-middle of the screenshot), but the same listing image looks cropped in the regular “latest places” images at the bottom-left of the screenshot.

I undestand an image cannot be both square and rectangular shapped unless you crop it or enlarge without keeping the aspect ratio. My suggestion would be to have a different kind of image the user can upload for square and for rectangular aspect because the featured image and the listing slider is pretty much compatible in shape but the squared related or latest places are not.

Also, I still don’t quite understand how the “upload file” custom field for a place (as an jpg) behaves when a user upload an image.

    Thanks,
    Eduardo
