I think this might have something to do with you not having your upload folder split into months and days which was laving uploaded images with a // in the url (i have changed setting now). Can you please retest with a fresh listing to confirm please?

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Working now on that listing page, but the adjustments to the upload folder wiped out the images on all the unclaimed listings.

How would we be able to fix that?

And where do I find the place to change the settings for the upload folder in the future?

Still having the same problem with images — and now am getting this message (after a listing claim):

    Cannarail Station: http://i502maps.com/places/ephrata/cannarail-station

Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /home3/sirshane/public_html/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 703

    Help?! and thanks . . .

    Hi,
in your media settings, this was still disabled: Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders

It can’t work if you don’t enable that setting.

Can you please try to delete images on that listing and reupload them with that setting enabled?

    Thanks you

Here’s some detail on what we’re experiencing (related to enabling the media setting and otherwise).

We want to have “placeholder” images for each listing prior to being claimed; and we want to be able to have those with the media setting enabled so claimed listings can be edited with new images.

    How might we achieve this?

    Issues:

Freshly created, the site worked fine except for the periodically-disconnecting pictures after some random period of time. Little placeholder boxes with X’s in them are displayed instead of the pictures, which still exist in the media folder. Deleting and re-uploading the pictures corrected the problem during the first month the site was up- they were “organized by month” and uploading new pictures automatically put them in an existing folder that all profiles pointed to.

Then, the following month, uploading new pictures did not work- the newly uploaded pictures were automatically put in a new folder (because it was a new month) and the existing store profiles we’re still pointing at the previous month’s folder. Changing the media-organization setting to DO NOT use month-based folders and re-creating the site gave me a relatively easy work-around, allowing me to easily upload 5 replacement pictures to the media folder and fix this problem when it occurs even after the first month. Using this method, pictures were not in a month-based folder so new uploads could reconnect to the existing 1,173 store profiles.

NOTE: Pictures continue to disconnect based on random circumstances. There are two different things happening with the disconnecting pictures issue and one additional problem where you cannot upload more than one picture-

    1) Sometimes when I edit a profile (or when a store owner edits their profile), the pictures for that profile are completely lost- there are no pictures shown when returning to edit the profile and no “pictures” tab in the profile (the pictures are still in the media folder). I must upload new pictures, one by one, into the individual store profile. Lately, this has been a problem too, as discussed below (#3).

    2) Sometimes I wake up in the morning I find that no profiles have pictures. All 1,173 store profiles have lost the connection to their pictures. In this situation the profiles know they have pictures and are trying to find the pictures but for some reason cannot find them so they display little boxes with X’s in them (all the pictures still exist in the media folder). To fix this, I delete the 5 pictures from the media folder, upload copies of those pictures (same file names) to the media folder and that corrects all 1173 profiles immediately.

    3) Now, when I grant control of a profile to a user and they edit their profile (or when I edit it), as usual, the link to the pictures is broken. There are no little boxes with X’s. I have to add pictures back these profiles one profile at a time and one picture at a time. After each picture, I am forced to update the page before adding an additional picture. No problem until recently. When I try to add an additional picture, it looks like it has added a second picture (2 thumbnails in the upload window) and I update/publish the page. Once updated, the first pic that I uploaded has been deleted and only the last pic is retained. Uploading another pic causes the same result – the new pic is the only pic on the profile. Changing the filename does not change this behavior and I am editing and uploading from a site admin profile

Interestingly, yesterday, a new store owner successfully uploaded five images to his profile. I have not researched this.

none of this should be happening, your WP Settings>media ” Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders” should be ticked. and you should have all the latest version of core +addons installed, if so please pass me wp-admin, ftp and db access and an example of how to recreate the problem and i will take a look.

    Thanks,

Since it’s a demo site, go ahead and claim any of the existing (unclaimed) listings, and enable the media settings etc. to see how the details description from this forum (October 31, 2014 at 4:18 pm) apply.

Then we’d need to know what you did to make it right.

    Thanks!

FTP details seem to be wrong.

I did notice ajax duplicate alert was causing a JS problem, i would disable that for now and re-test, let me know how u get on.
