Your documentation state that latitude and longitude are mandatory when importing listings. I have 350,000 plus listings and it is not possible to populate those fields. I want the address to post to the listing but not the lat and long. Are there null values you can use to populate those fields?

There are not , but there are a variety of services available to geocode your data.

That is a large number of listings, so, finding a good fit for your data and the current address format will be important.

There are literally thousands of services you could try, as well as some that work inside Google docs. Here’s a search for CSV geocoding to get you started

I am fully aware of Geocoding and don’t need anyone to google the sites for me. The free sites all have limitations on them where it would take weeks to convert all of my listings and the pay sites will cost around $400 at a minimum. This is a major, major, major flaw in your product. I have developed a number of high volume directories without having to “jump through the hoops” created by deficiencies in the directory software.

This has already been implemented in GDv2 which is currently being beta tested.

And when is GDv2 going to be available. If it’s more than 1 week from now it does me no good and I will switch over to a different Business Directory plugin we are using on our other websites.

I can’t say for sure that it will be 1 week, and the addons will be longer.

As you mentioned “Your documentation state that latitude and longitude are mandatory” they are for v1 and we tried to help you find solutions.

    Hi Bennie,

You can already download the GDv2 beta which has this feature, though you will have to do a fresh install of WP to test the beta just now: https://wpgeodirectory.com/geodirectory-v2-first-beta-release/

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
