    Hi,

I am looking to import about 2000 garages into a directory I am building.

I have just exported the example spreadsheet and whilst mapping the columns I realised I need more columns.

For example, with an MOT garage there is different levels of what MOT’s they can complete, so

    1) VAN Mot
    2) Lorry MOT
    3) Car MoT
    4) motor Bike MOT

So to get this information into the database/website do I need to install your plugin ‘Custom Posts Types’?

As it seems something like the example you give on here: http://geodirectory.themetailors.com/tt/portfolio/custom-post-types/ The Hotel with Wifi, Great For Kids Etc.

Mine would be Garage X – VAN Mot-Car MOT and Lorry MOT.

Ideally I would like small icons one each garage place/listings details 🙂 Not sure if this would be connected? To Custom Post Types?

    Regards

    Rob

    Hi,

you don’t need the CPT add-on for this. You just need to create custom fields.

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-place-settings/

    and

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/custom-field-examples/

    Should give you an idea.

Once you created the custom fields, you can add the new columns with the correct heading names and import.

If you create a custom fields with html variable: van-mot in the column you’ll need to add geodir_van-mot.

Or you can test the custom field using the front end form to add some data, than export the listing to csv to see how it is arranged.

Let us know how you went.

    Thanks
