    Hi there

I have just updated to the latest version which has caused the following problems.

Category images can no longer be seen in the back office although visible on website.
Location map is showing all categories bunched up on uk and is showing world map instead of default location

When trying to change the listing image the upload image does not take you to the media directory as before but to your own directory listings. At the moment I have an image selected which was obviously put there from media as you can see the file path but to change it, it bypasses the media upload.

    Please could you advise.

    Thanks.

    Hi Eileen,

Please share the URL of the site in question so we can take a better look at it and also WP temp admin access to your site. You can post the details here using the private reply option below.

In the meantime, try clearing your Website and browser cache and see if it helps.

    Thanks!

    Hi Eileen,

Thanks for your reply Just inspected your Website and I’m able to see the images while navigating randomly on your listings. Which listing/category is not displaying the image?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

    1. Category images – please share the URL where we can see the issue.

    2. Map center – the map will automatically center so as to include all listing on the site, and there are listings outside the UK so it is adjusting to include them as well. There are options for redirecting users on their first time load of the GD Home page to send them to the default location. Those options are in the Advanced Search panel. You can remove listings in other locations outside the UK if you want the GD Home map centered on the UK, also.

    3. Image storage and upload- Images uploaded to the gallery of through a listing are not stored in or available through the media gallery. This is a security precaution, put in place to remove access to the media gallery for visitors to the site. The first image is set as the Featured Image of the post, but this is done without moving the image to the media gallery.

    Hi Alex

The images are not viewable from the back office as per the files that I have already uploaded to support. They view correctly from a browser BUT not from back office admin. Instead there is an empty blob!

Also in the back office you can look at the path of where the default images have come from an (again in the images I uploaded) and you can see that this path is the uploads directory and initially these images were uploaded via the media. Again these images are viewable from a browser. If you look at the listings for therapy then categories you will see what I mean. It is showing a blob near to the category icon next to the button Remove Image. Prior to the update these were just selected from the media directory as I have them all in there but there is now no option to do this.

I will take another look at the map settings, thank you.

    Kind regards

    3. I used the backend editor to add a test listing and with adding two images it behaved as expected. Please send the URL to the edit page for a listing where we can see the issue. If the images cannot be accessed or edited from the front or backend, but they are visible on the listing page, please send a link to that listing so we can see the issue. I have disabled GD Boosted so there is no confusion about site cache while we look at the site.

    Hi Alex

Think we are talking at cross purposes.

The user listings are fine and no problems with images etc.

The problems are in the back office set up and configuration areas.

Please look at Therapies, Therapies Categories and you will see. Select one to edit and then look at the default image.

The problems are in the set up. Same as choosing a default image in Geodirectory – Design – Listing – before you could just select an image from media now you cant and the one that is there was put in via media when I set it up.

It is the same for any images that have been used when setting up.

    Kind regards

    Eileen

I see, it looks like you recently moved to https, and in updating the URLs in the site, an error occurred when working with the image URLs.

This is not a GD issue, specifially.

You will need to use a plugin like better-search-replace to find those ‘bad’ urls and update them to the correct URL.
