hi there,
i want to customise dashboard to:
Title: <h1>
Welcome ‘name’
Have two rows of two buttons: <same style as search button>
MY PLACE | EDIT PLACE
MY EVENTS | ADD NEW EVENT
Had a look at other comments, installed ‘sidebar login’ plugin (now deactivated) – but not know which code to put where!

Hi,
this would require to customize the code of the loginbox widget.
Something like that goes beyond support. Let us know if you want us to move this request in the Jobs section of the forum.
Thank you,
Hi,
the home page is built with widgets. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/layout/
Do you have widgets in place in the GD Home widgets sections?
Let us know,
Thanks
Hi,
thanks for reply,
(Sorry for double posting!)
I did have widgets which i have taken out, and gone through
‘6. Setting your home page’ at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#home
but still nothing.
It’s probably something simple, but I cant work out why is not working.
Sorry.
Please provide admin credentials and we will have a look.
Thanks
Hi,
you are not using that page as home page, you are using the GD Home as Home page and the GD Home is managed via widgets.
Please read this: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/layout/
Thanks
Just to recap:
1. Whatever I set as the homepage – the content can only be set in : Appearance > Widgets – Home Content Section
2. No matter what I have on page doesnt matter – the content can only be set in : Appearance > Widgets – ‘New Custom Section’ so I probably need to create sidebars for all pages(!)
Life would be easier if:
1. You explained GD was like this from the start
2. You/ WP could create an area where we can edit ‘Permalinks’ for all pages/ links or
You can edit ‘Permalinks’ from within page : Page > Edit Page (Cant do this for homepage)
That is not correct.
If you set your home page to be the GD-Home page, you will be able to add content only via widgets.
If you set a custom home page as your home page, you can add content via the page editor or a page builder.
You set the home page to be used via WordPress Settings >> Reading.
Let us know if this makes things clearer for you.
Thanks
