you know…the product is great, but the support is woeful!

Let me remind you(once again) of what you said earlier:

“FTP is optional, but can be very helpful”

so, in line with your advice, I provided the admin credentials for the site, you said that the ftp was not required, only optional.

So, I have now provided admin credentials twice, and got help zero times.

If you needed ftp, why would you not say so? Really?

Can you at least have a look, cause it really seems like helping customers is not a priority for you. I love this product but the attitude from the staff is unbelievable!

based on the fact that I have supplied the details you asked for twice, and not received any help, I think the review is appopriate. However, if you can actually be bothered to actually offer the help that you offered earlier, before throwing up roadblocks constantly, I would be happy to review the review.

However, at this point, I have done all that you asked and, frankly, just wasted weeks of my time

I am hoping that you can put me through to someone there who is motivated to help..I followed all of your instructions and think that banging my head against a brick wall would be more beneficial that continuing this with you.

I frequently quote what you said earlier so that others can see that, despite my following everything that you said, that no help has been forthcoming

…ahhh! just forget it. I realize now that you just don’t offer any serious customer support. I give up wasting my time. forget it, I’ll just muddle through some how and learn from the mistake of using this

That was my mistake, because in this case FTP is not optional.
Our support hours are M-Sat but I am making time now to help you.
Please provide FTP and I will take another look.

You can use your page builder on the templates to create the layout you want for the templates and pages.
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/integrations/builders/
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/templates/

I have added content to the front page from here:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/getting-started/front/
Add or adjust as you need to.

    Hi Simon,

I’m the same person who replied to your review, lets get this turned around…

The staging site seems to have converted ok now?
I tried to login to the main site to see how you have that setup but the password no longer works.

In GDv2 to be more compatible with all themes we no longer add our own sidebars via the plugin, instead we add options in our widgets that let you only show the widgets in our pages. The theme you are using has no sidebars (apart from a footer one). If thats the theme you want to stick with then the easiest solution would prob be to add a new tab with the sidebar info, or you can even add the info to one of the other main tabs, thats the beauty of v2 🙂 (or there are page builder solutions if you prefer)

I would say our free directory starter theme could be made to look very similar to what you have except with sidebars and top and bottom sections.

Anyway, let me know how you wish to proceed and any issues you have and we can work them out. As you can imagine i might not be around much today but if we can’t get things worked out quickly for you then we can go over things on skype on Monday afternoon if that suites you.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Hi, I am now using V2, however, i notice that the listing’s social media links are not showing? Please advise how to make these show on the listing page.

Social Links have been removed from GD because
    1) It is not a core feature and
    2) Lots of other plugins do it

So,on the listing page on V2 it requests social media links. Are you saying, therefore, that I need to download another plugin for the links to show?
If that is the case, which plugins are most compatible with GD?
